PROFESSOR ROBERT GREEN MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP



FALL 2011 APPLICATION

On March 14, 2006, Robert Green, a present and long-time member of CCAC’s faculty, unexpectedly

passed away. Robert “Bob” Green spent 40 years teaching language and literature to CCAC students. He

was a founding member of the CCAC faculty, and he served terms as chairman of the English

Department. As a professor, he reveled in the rigorous work of shaping students’ minds and encouraging

their writing triumphs. While he will be deeply missed, Bob Green’s devotion to CCAC and his

tremendous impact on the students he taught will be long remembered.



In his memory, the CCAC Educational Foundation has established the Professor Robert Green Memorial

Scholarship. This year one scholarship will be awarded to a humanities student attending the Allegheny

Campus with a 3.0 GPA or higher.



ELIGIBILITY: The scholarship committee will consider students pursuing a degree or certificate at

CCAC who meet the following criteria:



 Must be enrolled at the Allegheny Campus

 Must be in the Humanities Program

 Must have at least a 3.0 GPA



APPLICATION PROCEDURES: Applicants must complete an application form and submit a

double spaced essay, not exceeding two pages, responding to the question, “How would this scholarship

help you ease your financial burden and meet your educational goals?” Application packets must be

organized in the following order:

1. application form with student name facing up

2. essay

3. transcripts (both official and unofficial are acceptable)



The submission packet should be stapled once in the top left corner. Please note that students are

responsible for ensuring that their submissions are complete and will not be contacted if items are missing.



DEADLINE: All applications must be received by 4:30 p.m. Friday, July 8, 2011. Please mail

application and essay to:

SELECTION: Applications will be reviewed by the Scholarship Review Committee. The decision of the

committee is final.



NOTIFICATION: Recipients will be notified after Monday, August 8, 2011. Attendance at the

spring 2012 scholarship luncheon is required.
