No. IS19 books

The Library has over 38,000 electronic or ‘e-books’ in stock. E-books are on-screen

copies of printed books that are available 24 hours a day from any computer with Internet

access.

The largest collection is provided by Ebrary and contains academic texts on a wide range

of subjects. Smaller collections of hand-selected books (many of which appear on reading

lists) are available through MyiLibrary and Dawsonera.

To access the Library’s e-books, go to the Library website at www.port.ac.uk/library

You can find e-books on the Library Catalogue in the same way as you would find printed

books.

You can search only e-books

by selecting from the drop-

You can also access e-books via the Electronic Book page on the Library website. This

page also lists collections of books that are freely available via the Internet.

You need to use your institutional login (university username and password) to

access electronic books. Enter your username and password when you see the

University of Portsmouth login page.

You must have browser cookies enabled and pop-up blockers turned off.

For advice on technical problems, go to the Electronic HelpZone on the

Library homepage.

All three e-book collections allow you to copy and print limited amounts, add notes, search

within a book or across all books, and jump to particular sections of a book. An overview

of the features available in each collection is shown over the page.
