Board of Directors Meeting
Monday, July 11th, 2005 via Teleconference
Present: Matt Hansen, Mike Kornmann, Jim goldsmith, Jennifer Caravella, Scott Reuss, Marma
McIntee, Karen Joos, Kathy Metzenbaurer, Pam Hobson, Gary Korb, Donna Duerst, Barbara
Barker, Andrew Dane
1. Meeting called to order by Matt Hansen at 10:05am. There were no additions to the
agenda.
2. Secretary’s Report – Minutes of the May 20, 2005 meeting were emailed. Motion by
Kornmann, second by Caravella to approve the minutes. Motion carried.
3. Treasurers Report—Kornmann reported an account balance of $35,453.50 with a net
return on the conference of $5,900.88. Questions were clarified about what was included
in the miscellaneous expense for the conference.
4. Standing committee membership was confirmed. Additional members from WEAFCS for
the conference planning committee included Marilyn Herman and Kathy Metzenbauer.
Other associations will contact representatives.
Issues & Concerns committee organized the concurrent session “For the Good of JCEP” at
the conference. The committee also should consider taking a proactive approach with
legislators on issues that affect Extension rather than being reactive. Pam Hobson will
chair this committee this year.
5. JCEP Conference refunds—all refunds have be sent out. Speaker checks were sent out.
6. Web Update—Caravella asked everyone to look at the website and send any suggestions
to her ASAP so that the site can be updated.
7. JCEP By-Law update – Gary Korb suggested that each association look at the by-laws
section for their group to determine an need for updating. Minor changes in acronyms will
be made automatically.
8. Promotions and Marketing update—no update at this time.
9. Association Announcements—
Joos announced that ESP will have a 75th celebration at the all staff conference in
September centered around the Extension Workers Creed.
10. Future Wisline Meeting Dates (Friday, October 28th) This is during the WAE4-HYDP
national conference and only one member will be available for wisline. Alternate dates will
be explored, as well as dates for a December wilsine. Hansen will send out dates by email.
Also if committees want to meet by wisline, let Hansen know to reserve wisline time.
