Shopping For Kids Shoes Online and Not Sure What Shoe Size to Get
Many busy moms are moving to online shopping for their children's shoes and have a difficult time deciding
on the correct shoe size to order. You can rest assured when following the steps described in this article, you
will increase your comfort in choosing the correct shoe size for your children's feet and order online with
confidence.
Following are some steps to guide you in measuring your children's feet for the proper shoe size.
When trying to determine the proper size for your kids shoes, it is important to measure both feet. As
children grow, they may have one foot slightly larger than the other. If one foot is measuring larger than the
other, the shoe size must be determined by the size of the larger foot.
When measuring your child's feet, make sure the child is standing up and bearing full weight on both feet.
There should be approximately one half inch of space between the tip of the toes and the front end of the
shoe to not constrain the foot and allow for proper growth and development.
Step 1 - Draw a straight line, longer than the child's foot, on a piece of paper
Step 2 - Place the paper on a flat surface. Have the child stand on the line with her/his heel and longest toe
centered on the line.
Step 3 - Place a mark on the line at the tip of the longest toe and the back of the heel. When marking the
line, ensure the pen is perpendicular to the paper at a 90 degree angle.
Step 4 - Measure the distance between the marks and use a conversion chart to find the correct shoe size. If
one foot is larger than the other, fit to the larger foot.
Each manufacturer may have slightly different conversion charts based on different styles or brands. For
example, Primigi, Geox, and Lelli Kelly shoes are all Italian based companies, but their sizes run slightly
different. Refer to the individual manufacturer conversion charts to ensure that you purchase the correct size
for your children's growing feet.
