PARADE FACTS:
1. HOW TO ENTER Complete and return entry form. ENTRIES MUST BE RECEIVED NO LATER
THAN NOV. 15th. ENTRIES RECEIVED AFTER THIS DATE MUST INCLUDE A $75.00 LATE FEE
2. DATE Saturday, December 10, 2011
3. TIME Parade will start promptly at 9:30 A.M.
4. ENTRIES WILL BE JUDGED ON ROUTE
Trophies will include:
OVERALL THEME PRIZE Float Most Effectively Expressing the Theme
FIRST, SECOND, and THIRD PLACE TROPHIES will be awarded in each division as listed on facing page and
depending on the number of entries per division.
**If you plan on competing for an award, you MUST check the appropriate box on the entry form and you MUST have at least one
person from your group attend the awards presentation at Grape Day Park, following the Parade. If you do not, you may be
disqualified for the next year’s parade. Remember, we are a NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION and each year we prepare awards that
are never picked up by the participants. Please take this into consideration when choosing to compete!
5. BAND JUDGES
Judging will be conducted by the Southern California School Band and Orchestra Association.
All other entries will be judged by our civic volunteers.
6. PARADE DIVISON AND POSITIONS
Your Parade Packet will be mailed to you no later than November 28, 2011, and will contain all parade information
7. FLOATS
Floats may be self-propelled, towed by a decorated car, truck, or convertible. The float theme should be carried out along the entire
float and transport length.
8. SANTA CLAUS
To avoid any confusion, the Jaycees reserve the right to have the only Santa Claus in the Parade.
9. OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Please watch for direction as you approach the judging stand so you can be on TV as much as possible.
• AUTO ENTRIES - Due to the length of the Parade, we must limit the auto entries to a maximum of 8 cars per entry
• EQUESTRIAN ENTRIES - You must provide the name and phone number of a mandatory “pooper-scooper” responsible
for your group’s horse waste clean-up. This information must be submitted with the Parade Application. Compliance will
be checked during Parade line-up; those groups that do not have a dedicated person present for waste pick-up will not be
allowed to participate in the Parade. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
• PACE - All entries must maintain forward motion along the Parade route or be subject to disqualification. If a gap develops
between you and the group in front of you, please pick up your pace to close the gap and ensure that the Parade runs as smoothly
as possible.
• SAFETY - To insure the safety of the children viewing the Parade, the throwing of candy or any other objects from your
entry is prohibited. Failure to comply will result in the disqualification of your entry.
