91-6- Pathology

Brief History
Chronic paranasal sinusitis. Frontal sinusitis. Fungal sinusitis should be excluded
The CT done at Far Eastern Memorial Hospital showed the heterogeneous density
around the right maxillary sinus. Calcification of the mass was noted.
The pathological report of the operational specimen showed acute and chronic
inflammation

Dr OHNS:
Reviewing the CT image, the erosion of the medial wall of right maxillary sinus was
noted. The gross finding during operation showed that the mass was reddish and softy.
No fungal ball or other debris was noted during the procedure. Because of the
pathological report, we are worried about the possibility of T-cell lymphoma
Dr Pathologist:
Based on the slides of the specimen, no malignant cells were found. The pictures
showed both acute and chronic inflammation. And the component of chronic
inflammation is more. No fungal infection was suspected. No T-cell lymphoma
possibility was found in these slides. Was there any residual tissue during the
operation?

Dr. OHNS:
We almost remove it totally. I think it was quite clear during the intervention

Dr. Pathologist:
He had suffered from blood-tinged sputum. However, there are not much blood
vessels in the specimen

Dr OHNS:
It may come form the post-nasal dripping
