Founded in 1978, Forever-Living Products International has extended it's reach to all corners of
the globe and has become dominant in the health and beauty industry. The company operates on
what is called a network marketing or 'multilevel marketing' business model. If you are considering
the possibility of becoming a Forever-Living distributor and have no, or very little experience in
MLM, then there are some important facts that you must consider before making a commitment.
The questions I will cover will be what every potential marketer should ask before making a
decision as to whether or not being a distributor is right for you.
One of the most common questions I here from time to time is the infamous 'scam' question.
I will assume that you have an understanding of the MLM industry and also know that it is a
perfectly legit way to make a living.
And I will also assume that you know that the company products have been known to be some of
the best in the industry. After all, how could a company grow from a small start up in Tempe,
Arizona to one of the largest direct selling companies in the world?
So we can just forget about any potential Forever-Living Products scam.
Ok, now that we have got that out of the way we can focus on what really matters.
What really matters is what it takes to succeed in building your own business in the multilevel
marketing industry.
What does appear to sound good about the MLM opportunity that Forever-Living provides is the
fact that there are no fees associated with starting a business with the company. And on top of
that, there is no obligation to buy. What that usually means is that the money they would take in
from these 'waved' fees are made up somewhere else. What that usually translates into is 'smaller
commissions'. But this possibility should not discourage you if you are fairly new to the business.
At the very least you can consider the opportunity a way to build your resume as a marketer and
'graduate' to a better money making business later.
You must also consider what training you will be provided when joining Forever-Living. When you
start out with the company you will no doubt be asked to make a list of as many people or 'warm
contacts' that you can possibly think of. And if you shy away from exposing them to your business
and products, you will definitely get some 'frowns' from your upline.
This business is built upon the 'warm market' and if you are shy about approaching friends, family,
and co-workers about a business opportunity, you might have somewhat of a struggle in reaching
success. Also, approaching your warm market about the business is what your initial training will
consist of. Bypassing your warm contacts and going straight into what we could call the 'cold
market' could be a very huge struggle for you, especially if you have no prior sales or marketing
experience.
Whatever road you choose, there will be no easy way to financial freedom. Starting out fresh in
MLM can be an exciting experience if you can reach your goals. But it can be frustrating and
sometimes depressing if you don't.
The 'old school' methods of MLM such as approaching your 'warm market' are usually all that are
taught by most, if not all companies in the industry. And unfortunately, very few succeed with the
old school tactics.
But, there is a 'new school' of marketers that has been able to bypass the 'old' and reach huge
levels of success in multilevel marketing. The main subject taught in this 'new school' of marketing
is what we call, 'Attracion Marketing'. Attraction Marketing will eventually make the old methods
obsolete.
Take advantage of the new school while most of the industry is still stuck in the dark ages.
