Basic Conversion PPT with training dates in file
BETA Testing:
DCH has a number of hospitals on the list as interested in BETA testing, however if there are others, as I
mentioned during the Callaway meeting, let me know and these will be added to the list. At this time, DCH has
not finalized the list.
Web Portal:
HP Web Portal will be available as soon as conversion from ACS has been completed. We are currently
converting data to reduce the length of time the final conversion will take. We anticipate the web portal being
available for claim submission on July 1, 2010. Other methods of claim submission will be available to the
provider community between June 25, 2010 when the ACS website for claim submission is turned off and July 1,
2010 when the HP website will be available. Providers using their own software, clearinghouses, vendors,
etc. will see no disruption in service and can begin submitting electronic claims June 26, 2010 which will be
processed in the July 2, 2010 payment cycle.
HIPAA 5010 Standards:
HP will conduct provider workshops on 5010 standards between October, 2010 - December, 2010.
On January, 2011, HP will accept both the new 5010 format and the current format for all claims, Institutional,
Professional, Dental and crossovers, as well as HIPAA transactions for eligibility and claims. HP will continue
accepting either format between January 1, 2011 and December 31, 2011.
Spoke with Mary-Ann Barndt-Williams to discuss status of HP conversion/implementation and she said everything
seems to be on track; however, none of the providers have received the first communication regarding the
training scheduled to begin April 1,2010. She said that they are waiting on approval from DCH to mail the
introduction letter with invitations to the training events. None of the training events have been scheduled in the
field to date.
In addition, she also informed us that in order for them to provide more than one field rep for all the hospitals in
the state, that the hospitals would need to make a formal request to DCH for them to add additional staff for the
conversion. It is vital that more than one person be on the HP/Medicaid staff to work through all the conversion
issues! Not sure who we should instruct the hospitals to make the request to. Should it be Jerry Dubberly since
he is Medicaid Director?

Dear Association,
The Georgia Department of Community Health (DCH) and HP Enterprise Services, formerly EDS, are
collaboratively designing a new Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS) to begin processing Medicaid
Fee-for-Service (FFS) claims for the state of Georgia.
DCH and HP have mutually agreed to change the go-live date to accommodate additional time for system
testing. The new go-live date for the MMIS is November 1, 2010.
In the coming weeks, expect to receive invitations from HP to attend transition workshops on the new MMIS
application. Registration for the workshops will be e-mailed, mailed and available on the HP readiness Web site:

Dear Georgia Medicaid Provider:
The Georgia Department of Community Health (DCH) has contracted with HP Enterprise Services (HP) to serve
as the new Medicaid fiscal agent to begin November 1, 2010. During the period prior to the changeover, DCH will
be transitioning functionality from the ACS website/system to HP’s website/system.
You are invited to participate in one of the Training and Implementation Workshops scheduled August 2010
through October 2010 to learn about critical transition information and preview the new Georgia Health
Partnership Web Portal and billing software.
Providers are urged to bring or send their practice managers, billing staff, office administrators and front office
staff to at least one of these workshops.
In order to ensure all Georgia Medicaid providers can attend at least one workshop, sessions will be held at
various locations throughout the state of Georgia. Workshops will provide important information you will need to
know in order to be prepared for the November 1, 2010 transition. This information includes the following:

New mailing addresses and contact information
