Halo 3 Tournament Rules
General guidelines
ALL rulings are final however all rules are subject to change by the Intramurals Coordinator.

Maps Guardian, Snowbound, The Pit, Isolation, Last Resort, High Ground
Weapons Map Default
Vehicle set No vehicles
Time/Kill limit 10 minutes or first to 25 kills
Game type Free For All Slayer
Screen Split-screen, not networked
Time and Location:
- Tournament will begin at 12:00pm on Tuesday, February 9 in the SRC Atrium
Setup
- You are required to sign up
- No symbol settings will be allowed. If you delay the tournament in an attempt to find
your symbol, you will have points deducted (automatically lose a game) or will be
dismissed from the tournament
General Guidelines
- The maximum number of players allowed in this tournament is 12. Must be a GSC
student.
- 5 additional players will be placed on a waiting list for replacement if any of the original
players are absent.
- Map will be chosen the day of by the Event Moderators.
- Players will be randomly paired up in groups at the start of the event.
- This tournament for Halo 3 will be a single elimination 4 player FFA (Free For All.)
- Advances to the next round will be determined by a point ranking system (1st place = 3
points, 2nd place = 2 points, 3rd place = 1 point, and 4th place = 0 points.)
- Each player will play 3 rounds per match.
- After 3 rounds, the top 2 point leaders will advance to the next tier.
- If after 3 rounds there is a two-way tie for first place, those two players automatically
advance.
- If after 3 rounds more than two players tie for first place, the kill/death ratio will be
reviewed and the two players with the best ratio will advance.
- If after 3 rounds there is a tie for second place, the kill/death ratio will be reviewed and
the player with the best ratio will advance.
- If after 3 rounds there is a tie between all players, the kill/death ratio and any other
statistical factors will be reviewed and the two players with the best ratio will advance.
- All games will be played on an Xbox 360.
- All games must be played with standard controllers.
- No memory cards will be allowed/used at this tournament.
- Players will be allowed one at a time to adjust their controller settings and customize the
appearance of their characters.
- Physical threats, racial comments, or inappropriate language and behavior will not be
tolerated. If you are warned and not compliant with such guidelines, you will be asked to
leave the tournament. Friendly trash talk is allowed (it’s part of the game!) but please be
courteous to the other players.
- There is no pausing allowed. If a player intentionally pauses the game, 3 points will be
deducted from their final score after 3 rounds. Any accidental pausing will be reviewed
by the Event Moderators.
- Abuse of any equipment (Xbox 360, controllers, TV’s, etc) will result in your
disqualification from the tournament and reimbursement of any damaged equipment.
- No sideline coaching is allowed. You may cheer or boo as the game progresses (and
you’re encouraged to do so), but you may not offer advice to anyone playing a game.
You will be warned and failure to follow this rule will result in disqualification from the
tournament.
- If you are more than 10 minutes late to the tournament’s posted start time, you may have
to forfeit the tournament. If a player purposely turns off a game while it is in progress,
that player will be disqualified from the tournament. Entry into future tournaments may
be denied.
- Arguing with the Event Moderators about a decision may result in disqualification from
the tournament.
- If any game glitches are discovered during the tournament giving a player an unfair
advantage, the Event Moderators have the right to ban using the glitch after the point in
which it is discovered. The Event Moderators have discretion to disqualify the player.
