					This Product Gap Analysis Template is a business assessment tool used by a company
to compare its actual performance with its desired performance. Gap analysis
evaluates current, actual performance and the necessary improvements to close the
gap and reach the desired performance. Correct gap analysis should increase a
company's production and efficiency, resulting in higher quality products at a lower
costs. This document provides a template to help a company perform gap analysis for
its products or services. It should be used by managers or officers of a company to
increase performance.

PRODUCT GAP ANALYSIS
INTRODUCTION

iCONNECT is a file-sharing application that allows users to upload and share files online. Once
saved on the online database, these files may then be made available for download by all or
selected parties. iCONNECT is highly flexible, equipped with customization options enabling
users to make an uploaded file available for public (group) or private (individual) sharing. The
system supports a variety of file formats – DOC, PDF, JPEG, GIF, BMP, MP3, MP4, WAV,
AVI, etc. With the system’s well-structured interface and its wide global coverage, iCONNECT
has facilitated one of the largest file-sharing communities, catering not only to independent users
(private individuals) but also to companies that consistently engage in global transactions.



Objective

This gap analysis aims to check the features of iCONNECT against customer requirements.
Through the assessment of our product features and the identification of client expectations, this
gap analysis will facilitate the formulation of an action plan and ensure that what we provide is
in line with what customers need.



Methodology

For independent users, an online survey will be conducted to solicit feedback on how effective
iCONNECT is in addressing their file-sharing concerns. For corporate clients, a questionnaire
will be sent through email. An internal monitoring of site activities and the community forum
will also be done to check for possible trends or complaints.

PROCESS PRESENTATION

The process of file sharing begins when one party uploads a file. Once uploaded, this file is
automatically saved in the database and is then available for sending or sharing. Before a file is
shared, the sending party must first configure the settings and indicate if the file is for public or
private sharing. Once settings have been defined, the sending party identifies the other party/ies
that could access the uploaded file. A notification, which requires acknowledgement, is sent to
the receiving party. When the acknowledgement is sent, the file may then be shared to and
downloaded by the receiving party/ies.

Some files are too big to be uploaded. Customers often get an error message when uploading.
PDF files of more than 2,000 KB cannot be uploaded.

                       Modify the parameters and allot a specific file size allowed for each file

Corporate clients find that too much time is used in manually entering a receiving party’s
information. Their transactions are usually done with the same business partners and it would be
logical to have a list of common searches from which to choose.

Recommendation/s Modify parameters and add a history box where common searches could
                       appear. Also, add a feature that will allow users to save the information of
                       the parties they commonly deal with. This will make the file-sharing
                       process more time efficient.
