Multi-million dollar club is the first Platinum club in Asia

1st February 2007, Singapore - Fitness First, the largest health club operator in the world,
has reached the milestone of 500 clubs worldwide marked today by the opening of Fitness
First Platinum at One Raffles Quay. Its choice of Singapore for its 500th club underscores the
company’s global growth strategy.

"As the world's largest operator of health clubs, reaching 500 clubs is an achievement that we
are very proud of, and it is fitting that it is a club of the quality of One Raffles Quay, in a
business as strong as our business in Singapore. This is an important milestone for the
Group - though the expansion continues unabated with a further 50 clubs opening in 2007
across the world, of which three are in Singapore", Colin Waggett, Chief Operating Officer,
Fitness First Group.

Singapore has seen one of the fastest expansions in Asia with 5 Fitness First clubs opening
in less than 24 months (between April 2005 – March 2007). Over S$18m has been spent on
building and reinvestment in the Singapore business over the last 2 years.

There are now 56 clubs in Asia and this figure will grow by 15 clubs in 2007 to reach to over
100 Fitness First clubs in Asia by the end of 2009.

Editor’s Note:

About Fitness First

Fitness First is the largest health club operator in the world* with 540 clubs and more than 1.3
million members spread across Asia, Australia, Continental Europe and the U.K. This is a
huge achievement since the company began with just one club in Bournemouth (UK) in 1992.

In September 2005, the company was taken private by private equity firm BC Partners for
£835million. This is remarkable as it almost doubles the value that private equity group
Cinven paid when it took over ownership of the company from Fitness First founder Mike
Balfour just 2 years prior for £400million. The fact that this took place just 2 years after
Cinven acquired its shareholding reflects the strong performance of Fitness First and its
outstanding prospects for the future.

Fitness First's success shows that it has the right formula to meet the increasing demand for
high quality fitness facilities and services. Fitness First is the only really global fitness
company enjoying leadership positions in all its major markets.
