02. Introduction
Wound closure can be defined as the closure of wounds caused accidentally or the closure of
surgical incisions. Mechanical wound closure is a technique whereby wounds are sealed by
applying staples or clips. Mechanical wound closure techniques have an advantage over
traditional suturing techniques in terms of speed, tissue penetration, and scar formation, which is
negligible compared with the use of sutures. Since tiss
