The PricewaterhouseCoopers eLearning site is a service offering of PricewaterhouseCoopers
LLP (PwC US), the US member firm of the PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) global network of
member firms. PwC US shall refer to PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, a Delaware limited liability
partnership and/or its affiliates and subsidiaries, including but not limited to PwC Product Sales
LLC. Each PricewaterhouseCoopers member firm is a separate and independent legal entity.
This statement sets forth the Privacy Statement for the PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP eLearning
site ("site" or "website") and describes the practices that will be followed with respect to the
privacy of Users and the information contained within this Site. By submitting identifying data as
a visitor to the site, you are agreeing to PricewaterhouseCoopers' use of such data as described
in this privacy statement.
"We" or "us" in this Privacy Statement means, in relation to your personal data, the
PricewaterhouseCoopers entity that is the controller of that personal data.
"You" in this Privacy Statement means you as an individual.
"SmartPros" refers to the third party entity that provides the hosting facilities for PwC US and is
acting at the direction of PwC US.

1. What personal data is collected?
"Personal data" means information about you. The collection of your personal data on our
website will be facilitated by SmartPros. The personal data collected about you will be limited to
the information required to provide you with access to courses purchased or to participate in
online surveys or polls. This site collects only personal data that is specifically and voluntarily
provided by you to the PwC US eLearning website. Information about you may include your
name, address, organization/company, your business position, phone, email, and your purchase
and payment information. Information about you will be collected directly from you when you
register as a user of the PwC US eLearning website.
It is PricewaterhouseCoopers' policy to limit the information collected to only the minimum
information required to complete your request. We do not generally seek to collect sensitive data
through this website. If we do seek to collect such data we will ask you to consent to the uses we
propose to make of the data. By providing us with unsolicited sensitive data you consent to our
using those data, subject to applicable law, for the purposes set out below.
2. How will personal data be used?
When you visit this website personal data may be collected and processed to allow you to:
• Register, purchase and complete certified eLearning courses and receive NASBA/QAS
certified Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credit. Please note, PwC US will
award a certificate of completion; however it will be your responsibility to submit the
awarded certificate for state or local processing;
• Receive information about future PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP course offerings or other
relevant course offerings;
• Participate in online surveys or polls; or
• Contact us for further information.
Information attained by the site is used only for the intended purpose stated at the time that the
information is collected. Unless specifically requested by you, PricewaterhouseCoopers will not
use personal data collected from our websites to facilitate unsolicited marketing activities. We will
use the personal data collected to contact registered users about future eLearning or other
relevant course offerings, unless you specifically request not to be contacted.
3. How can I access or change my personal data or withdraw my consent?
You can update the data we hold about you at any time by editing your profile information on the
site where you submitted your personal data, via the Update Profile link on the website.
4. Is personal data transferred to another country?
Because of the international nature of the services provided by PwC and the nature of PwC's
activities, personal data may, subject to applicable law, be transferred internationally to other
PwC global networks for the purposes described above. Personal data collected by the site may
be transferred to other PwC firms, which are member firms of the global network, where it is
necessary to meet the purpose for which you have submitted the information. This may mean that
personal data are transferred to countries, such as the United States, where SmartPros is
located. By submitting data on our website, you are providing explicit consent to cross border
transmission of data collected on our website for the fulfillment of your requests.
5. Is personal data disclosed to other entities?
Your data will be collected by SmartPros, our third party hosting vendor, who will host and
provide access to courses purchased. In addition, your name, address, email address, phone
number and credit card number will be transferred directly to VeriSign, SmartPros third party
eCommerce vendor, for the purpose of processing your payment for your purchased courses. At
no time will the details of your sales transaction be shared between VeriSign and SmartPros.
Verisign will only provide aggregated transaction reports to SmartPros for data and reporting
purposes; these reports will not include transaction details such as your credit card number. Your
information will only be disclosed to certain types of staff within PwC, SmartPros and VeriSign
(i.e. staff whose job it is to process your inquiries or orders) and they will only process the data for
the purposes identified in this Privacy Statement. Personal data will also, subject to applicable
law, be disclosed:
• to other entities within the PricewaterhouseCoopers network, or its affiliates and
subsidiaries, which may follow the privacy practices in this policy or notify you of their
own privacy practices; or
• where such disclosure is required by law through subpoena, search warrant or other
forms of legal process.
We do not collect or compile personally identifying information for dissemination or sale to outside
parties for consumer marketing purposes, or host mailings on behalf of third parties. In some
situations, you may submit personal data directly to third parties who supply services to us in
connection with this website. Before submitting personal data you will be informed if this is the
case and whether that entity will process personal data pursuant to this Privacy Statement or
another privacy statement. When you link to other websites, PwC's privacy practices no longer
apply. We encourage visitors to review each site's privacy policy before disclosing any personally
identifiable information.
6. How long is personal data retained?
We will keep your personal data for as long as is reasonably necessary for the purposes
described in this privacy statement and as is required by our internal policies and other regulatory
requirements, such as NASBA requirements. SmartPros will retain your personal data for as long
as reasonably necessary, either as required by their internal requirements or as requested by
PwC.
7. How is personal data secured?
SmartPros has implemented generally accepted standards of technology, including Secure
Socket Layer (SSL), and operational security in order to protect personal information from loss,
misuse, alteration or destruction. However, the nature of the Internet is, of course, such that the
data may flow over networks without appropriate security measures and may be accessed and
used by unauthorized persons. Only authorized PwC and SmartPros personnel are provided
access to personally identifiable information.
8. Are cookies used on the website?
A "cookie" is a small data file transferred by a Web site to a computer's hard drive. SmartPros
sends cookies when you visit the site, make purchases, or respond to online surveys or polls.
Accepting the cookies used on the PwC eLearning site does not give SmartPros access to your
personal information. The aggregate information collected enables SmartPros to analyze traffic
patterns on the site and maintain your user session on the site. Specifically, cookies enable you
to enter your username and password only once on pages where a login is required.
Most browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually refuse cookies, or selectively
accept certain cookies, by adjusting the preferences in your browser. If cookies are turned off,
though, there may be some features of the site that will not be available and some Web pages
may not display properly. For more information on adjusting your cookie settings, go to the Help
menu of your browser.
9. Changes to this Privacy Statement
We reserve the right to modify or amend this Privacy Statement at any time. The effective date
will be displayed at the beginning of this statement. Please refer back to the statement
periodically to review any updates.
