Nicholas Halsey F2 candidate for Peninsula Foundation School Committee Personal statement I feel the Peninsula deanery is already successful in delivering a structured and realistic training programme for our foundation doctors, however, my aim would be to maintain and significantly improve our current programme. One of my main areas I will represent our F2 doctors will be working hours / rota compliance. I have been an F1 and know what it is like to work a 104 hour week! I am keen to translate what is actually written on the rota into reality on the wards. Let me hear your stories and inform the board of what is really happening. I also feel strongly about clinical education. I want to closely examine the content of our teaching sessions and bring about change that F2s want to see happen. I am currently completing a Post Graduate Certificate of Clinical Education and feel very passionately about these potentially very valuable teaching opportunities. Lets make them relevant, dynamic and interesting ! I will be keen to discuss any feelings any F2 doctor has and highlight these to the board. These could range from your beliefs on study leave/ bursaries through to job rotations, academic support, career development or e-portfolio concerns. I believe I will be a reliable voice for the modern F2 doctor to bring about positive change. Vote for me !
