meetings
Sustainability is an emerging trend. Increasingly, venues are receiving RFPs from
event planners that ask about the venues’ green initiatives to support their events
and require some type of compliance with environmental protection policies.
With increased pressure from event planners for a more responsible meetings
industry, many destinations are reacting and coming up with initiatives to support
green events. What is the business case in embracing sustainability? What role
does the destination play in the success of a sustainable meeting/event? What are
the venues and suppliers doing to create that unique selling point? How can the
Asian cities work together to create a green image for the region, substantiated
by real environmental practices?
Hear from Guy Bigwood, MCI Group Sustainability Director and Past-President
Green Meeting Industry Council, as he and the panel members share case studies
on sustainable events and destinations.
