Bridge,

The Slaughter House Covered Bridge also called the

U.S. National Register of Historic Places Slaughterhouse Covered Bridge [2] is a wooden covered

Bridge,

bridge that crosses the Dog River in Northfield, Vermont

on Slaughter House Road. It was listed on the National

Register of Historic Places in 1974.[1]

The bridge is of Queen post truss design.

Recent history

There are no documents to verify, but the 8 ton weight

limit seems to indicate that the deck has been reinforced

by I beams, likely in the 20th century.[3]
