Memorandum
To: Election Officials interested in WisLine Programs
From: Diane Lowe, Elections Specialist
Government Accountability Board, Elections Division
Date: August 21, 2009
Subject: Purchasing WisLine Session Materials and Audio Tapes or CDs
Rather than attend the WisLine Sessions in person, many of you have expressed interest in
purchasing WisLine print materials and audio recordings (tape or CD) so that you can present
the materials to your inspectors without them attending the live sessions. This is a viable
option. HOWEVER, THE RECORDINGS AND MATERIALS ARE NOT ORDERED THROUGH
THE GOVERNMENT ACCOUNTABILITY BOARD (GAB). Also, keep in mind that the
recordings will not be available until one to two weeks following the live WisLine program.
You may order print materials and audio tapes/CDs by downloading an order form at
http://lgc.uwex.edu/Materials/Materials09.pdf. Alternatively, write a letter to the Local
Government Center, 610 Langdon Street, Room 229, Madison, WI 53703, stating
the name of the program,
the date of program,
whether you prefer CD or audiocassette, and
where you want your purchase mailed.
Enclose a check payable to UW-Extension. The cost is $25.00 per session and all orders must
be prepaid.
In addition, each recorded session can be purchased as an audiostream. After our live WisLine
teleconference has occurred, the spoken portion is converted into streaming audio which you
can play on most home or business computers equipped with speakers or headphones and an
Internet connection (DSL, cable, or other high-speed connection recommended). The same
materials packet that people receive when attending a live teleconference will be provided
online as a PDF file. To purchase the audiostream, visit
http://learningstore.uwex.edu/Conducting-Local-Elections-C306.aspx. Be advised that the
audiostream will not be available until a week or two after each live broadcast.
Again, if you choose to purchase materials and tapes or audio streams rather than have your
currently certified chief inspector attend the live broadcasts, PLEASE REMEMBER TO NOTIFY
ALLISON COAKLEY (allison.coakley@wi.gov) OF THE DATES AND TIMES YOU ARE
PRESENTING EACH SESSION.
Thank you.
