Wirral Rugby Club is based in Thornton Common Road,
League(s) North West One Clatterbridge, Wirral, England. Wirral Rugby Club is a
thriving Club on the Wirral. It has many Minis and Ju-
niors teams from under 8s upwards, and runs Colts and
Four Senior teams. The Club was formed in 1937 and was
based at the School, at Hooton, and since 1967, at its pre-
sent ground. As of the 2010/11 season, the first team play
in North West One.
The team used to be called the "Old Wirralians" based
around Wirral Grammar School.
One former asset to the club is England debutant Matt
Cairns who played for England against South Africa in the
first test of 2007.
