Do competitive martial arts attract aggressive children? Reynes E, Lorant J. Percept Mot Skills. 2001 Oct;93(2):382-6. Laboratoire Sport et Regulation Sociales, Universite de Nice Sophie-Antipolis, UFR STAPS, France. email@example.com The purpose of the present study was to ascertain whether children beginning martial arts training were more aggressive than their peers. 150 8-yr.-old children were administered the Buss-Perry Aggression Questionnaire. Analysis showed that children beginning martial arts training did not score more aggressive than their peers but scored higher on the Anger scale. This difference, however, appeared only in children practicing judo. Reynes E, Lorant J (2001). Do competitive martial arts attract aggressive children?
