Dear Wyatt Parents/Families:
It’s hard to believe summer vacation is almost over and another school year is about to begin next
week! I hope your family has enjoyed a fun, safe, restful, and relaxing summer vacation!!! The new
Executive Board has many terrific programs and events planned for the school year and looks
forward to sharing that information with you over the coming months!
Since there will be no packet pick-up day this year, I wanted to provide you with some NEW
information and helpful reminders for back-to-school:
Please update/create your PISD Volunteer Application (background check) at
www.pisd.edu/parents/pta.volunteers/index. Please keep in mind you will not be allowed to
volunteer at Wyatt until your application has been processed and approved for the new school
year.
Please go online to www.mypisd.net to update your child's Emergency Card, Truancy Letter,
Student Policy Packet, and Student Information Release for the 2011-2012 school year.
Please add funds to your child’s PayPam account at www.paypams.com if your child buys their
lunch at school. It can take a couple of days before the money will be available to your child.
Continuing the previous Board’s goal to become more “green” and use less paper, you will no
longer receive a packet of back-to-school forms from the PTA this year. Instead, you will enter
your information directly into our NEW ONLINE PARENT CONNECT PROGRAM and be able to use
your debit/credit card to make purchases! We are very excited about this new program
because it will help our PTA to work more efficiently and provide an added convenience to
Wyatt’s very busy families!!! Instructions on how to get started with our new Parent Connect
program are attached to this letter.
As in the past, we would like to give each family an opportunity to donate funds to the PTA in lieu
of participating in fundraising activities. Any donation amount would be appreciated! (Last year,
the suggested amount was $52 per family.) Donations can be made in our new online store at
www.wyattpta.org. *

I am excited to serve as Wyatt PTA’s President this year and look forward to working closely with our
WONDERFUL Principal and Staff, our EXCELLENT Executive Board, our TERRFIC Volunteers, and YOU to
help make the new school year a huge success for all of our children! Please feel free to contact me
if ever you have any PTA-related questions or concerns. Thank you!
Best regards,
Penny Stone
PTA President, 2011-2012
* While we certainly would prefer everyone use our new safe and user-friendly online program, we are also
happy to accept personal checks made payable to “Wyatt PTA”, which can be sent with your child to school.
Please make sure to note in the memo section of your check what the payment is for (party fund, donation,
yearbook, etc.) and your child’s name and grade.
Wyatt PTA Goals for 2011-2012 School Year
To continue being a powerful voice for all children, a relevant resource for families, and
a strong advocate for the education and well-being of every child;
To provide quality educational programming and supplemental resources to students;
To provide better communication and more convenience to Wyatt parents and staff;
and
To continue exploring new ways to be more technologically innovative and
environmentally conscious.
Follow the simple steps below to enter your family’s information into our
NEW Online Parent Connect Program! It’s safe, easy, and quick to use!
STEP 1: Go to Wyatt PTA’s website: www.wyattpta.org
STEP 2: At the top of our Home page, click on the following links:
JOIN PTA ONLINE This is where you enter information for the adults in your household to become
PTA members for the 2011-2012 school year. We are not offering a single membership this year.
Every household who joins the PTA, will receive a complimentary paper copy of the school directory.
We would like to encourage EVERYONE to join the PTA this year!!!
ONLINE STORE This is where spirit wear, yearbooks, and other items can be purchased. You can
use your debit or credit card and shop anytime you like from the comfort of your own home! What’s
more convenient than that?!? Please keep in mind there will be a $1.00 convenience fee for each
debit or credit card transaction to help cover the PTA’s credit card processing fees.*
* When you make a purchase for the first time, you will have to create a new Parent Connect account by
entering your name, email address, and creating a password. You will then have to fill in your billing address
and credit/debit card information (including the 3-digit number on the back of your credit/debit card).
While we certainly would prefer everyone use our new safe and user-friendly online program, we are also
happy to accept personal checks made payable to “Wyatt PTA”, which can be sent with your child to school.
Please make sure to note in the memo section of your check what the payment is for (party fund, donation,
yearbook, etc.) and your child’s name and grade.
SCHOOL DIRECTORY This is where you go when you need to access the school directory online
from your mobile phone or when you can’t find your copy of the paper directory at home. It is a
password-protected SECURED AREA and only Wyatt families who have created a Parent Connect
account will have access to the online directory.
VOLUNTEERS This is where you sign-up for various volunteer opportunities. We encourage you to
sign up for more than one opportunity!!!
