Description of Event:
CanStruction is a competition held every year in Louisville. Contestants create sculptures out
of cans and whoever has the best design wins. The cans are then donated to charity. The ASCE
Student Chapter wanted to do a similar event for E-Expo. Maggie Ravard donated cans of
Campbell’s Soup for us to use for our sculpture. We built the Brooklyn Bridge. We then had
two different activities for students to participate in during E-Expo: guess how many cans it
took us to build the Brooklyn Bridge and create your own sculptures. CanStruction was a big
hit with the students. The cans were donated to Mt Washington Community Ministries.
