Lost in War.
It was only couple hours ago when we were out in the park. I was playing
with my family and friends. Then out of nowhere these people came I
didn’t know if they were soldiers or just bad people out to get me. I lost
my family i didn’t know where they were, I couldn’t see much because of
the smoke. Then I felt something touching my hand it was a pirate. It had
a knife in his hand I didn’t know if he was going to kill me. For a second I
thought that the pirate was holding a bag it turned out to be my little
brother with his neck half cut off. I was screaming because the pirates
killed my brother. That second I just felt a gush of pain, I didn’t know
what to do now that my little brother is dead, BECAUSE OF THIS
UNWANTED WAR. I didn’t know what they were going to do to me. But
in a blink of an eye, I was now in a locked up and squashy cage with 10
other people.
So here I am now where there is nowhere to go, no-one to talk to and no-
one that I could trust. I decide to give up hope and let the pirates do
whatever there want with me. But that very moment a girl came up to me
and tapped me on the shoulder. I could not believe my eyes, it was my best
friend called Noor. I was thanking God every second for giving me a little
hope now, because now Noor is here.
They took us to this place, where they were killing people, harassing
people and making them slaves. In that very room my friend Noor saw my
mum being harassed. I was shouting at the soldiers and saying ‘please stop
your killing my mum' but there would not listen. I was crying because
there killed my mum and I have no-one accept my friend Noor. We are so
hungry and thirsty I'm very stressed and scared if there were going to kill
me. I miss mum family.
That very night a bunch of men, women and kids were coming up with a
plan to get out of here. Noor and I joined in to think of a plan to escape
this torture. The next day I woke up starving and i needed to go to the
toilet I asked them if I can go to the toilet they said 'do it in your pants'. I
had no choice but to do it because I was extremely needing to go to the
toilet.
Yesterday night we made a plan, I hope it works. There is only one guard
looking after our cage so we pretend to fight so he could come in the cage
and then we can kill him and lock him up in the cage he put us in. After
we took the AK-47 and his whip we went outside. There were only 15
pirates to kill. The kids including Noor and I and the women went to
hide. And the men went to kill the pirates. Then after 1 hour they killed
all of them but the only survivors in our group were 2 men which were
covered in blood. They didn't care because they want to leave this
country. They saw a man on the road he turned out to be a smuggler, we
payed him how much we had but we didn't have enough so instead we
started screaming at the guy, "let us have a boat to leave Malaysia". After
that there got on a boat and found some food supply's there were so joyful
and very happy, there found water, fruits and vegetables.
We started to set off to the open sea. With Noor, me and 20 other men,
women and kids. The people on the boat were very kind and nice; I was
glad that they were on our boat. There was just couple of people that
threatened me but I handled them. I couldn’t wait till i was out of here,
out of this country, knowing that I still might have a chance of surviving.
Unfortunately, friend Noor got stabbed whilst we were on the boat, by
this men.
After couple of months we finally reached our destination, Australia.
When we came to Australia they interviewed most of us but didn’t let the
rest get past. Thankfully the emigration office interviewed me. I was
lucky I had a interpreter helping me because I wasn’t good at speaking
English at that time. They asked me questions like, why are you coming
here? Do you have any family in Australia? What happened to you? The
interview was finally over. They said that they would put me into a
detention centre, to see what they could do with me. I stayed in that
detention centre for 3 months, they told me that they would give me a
visa, I accepted their kind offer. They sent me to Perth, with the other
refugees. The lawyers and also the government were talking about how
our lives could change, how we could get a house and how we could
become a citizen. In Perth they let us free.
Here I am now with a family of 3, studying to hopefully become a doctor. I
would say that my journey was a miracle sent from God
