• He discovered lands previously unknown.
• He discovered unknown lands.
• We don‘t know what he looked like.
• What does he look like?
• He looks like my brother.
• It‘s just like you!
• This story concerns an egg.
• I am concerned about his health.
• The problem concerns us all.
• He was sitting with some Spanish nobles.
• If you had not discovered the New World,
someone else would have (discovered it).
• If I had been there, I would have done it.
• How hard could it be?
• It is hard to say.
• She works very hard.
• He asked that fresh eggs be brought to the
table.
• He asked them to bring fresh eggs to the
table.
• I ask you to come.
• Don‘t ask me to do it.
• He challenged the nobles to make the eggs
stand upright.
• The egg stood upright.
• Jack was so drunk that he wasn‘t able to
stand upright.
• All tried unsuccessfully.
• Were you successful?
• It is a very successful novel.
• They insisted that it could not be done.
• I insist that it is true.
• I insist that you go there.
• The seemingly impossible becomes the
simplest thing ... once someone has shown
you how.
• It takes a genius to discover something
new, but afterwards anyone can do it.
• What do you want to become in life?
• I want to become an actress.
• The story has inspired many monuments to
Christopher Columbus.
• Seville has three monuments to
Christopher Columbus.
• Yet most people have only seen two.
• The tomb of Christopher Columbus is
colossal.
• The bronze egg dwarfs the other
monuments.
• Yet hardly anyone seems to know that it
exists.
• I wondered who created it.
• I wonder if she comes.
• Few tourists ever see it.
• This is a shame.
• To get an idea of the scale we need a man.
