 1   15A NCAC 10B .0202 is amended as published in 26:03 NCR 102 as follows:
 2
 3   15A NCAC 10B .0202         BEAR
 4   (a) Open Seasons for bear shall be from the:
 5            (1)      Monday on or nearest October 15 to the Saturday before Thanksgiving and the third Monday after
 6                     Thanksgiving to January 1 in and west of Surry, Wilkes, Caldwell, Burke and Cleveland counties.
 7                     the boundary formed by I-77 from the Virginia State line to the intersection with I-40, continuing
 8                     along I-40 west until the intersection of NC 18 and NC 18 to the South Carolina State line.
 9            (2)      Second Monday in November to the following Saturday and the third Monday after Thanksgiving
10                     to the following Wednesday in all of Halifax, Martin and Northampton counties.
11            (3)(2)   Second Monday in November to January 1 in all of Bladen, Carteret, Cumberland, Duplin, New
12                     Hanover, Onslow, Pamlico, Pender and Sampson counties.
13            (4)(3)   First Monday in December to the third Saturday thereafter in Brunswick and Columbus counties.
14            (5)(4)   Second Monday in November to the following Saturday and the third Monday after Thanksgiving
15                     to the fifth Saturday after Thanksgiving in all of Alexander, Beaufort, Camden, Catawba, Chowan,
16                     Craven, Dare, Edgecombe, Greene, Halifax, Harnett, Hyde, Iredell, Johnston,Jones, Lenoir,
17                     Martin, Nash, Northampton, Pasquotank, Pitt, Stokes, Tyrrell, Vance, Warren, and Washington
18                     Washington, Wayne, Wilson and Yadkin counties.
19            (6)(5)   Saturday preceding the second Monday in November to the following Saturday and the third
20                     Monday after Thanksgiving to the fifth Saturday after Thanksgiving in Bertie, Currituck, Gates,
21                     Hertford and Perquimans counties.
22            (7)      Second Monday in November to the following Saturday in Greene, Lenoir and Pitt counties.
23   (b) No Open Season. There is no open season in any area not included in Paragraph (a) of this Rule or in those
24   parts of counties included in the following posted bear sanctuaries:
25            Avery, Burke and Caldwell counties--Daniel Boone bear sanctuary except by permit only
26            Beaufort, Bertie and Washington counties--Bachelor Bay bear sanctuary
27            Beaufort and Pamlico counties--Gum Swamp bear sanctuary
28            Bladen County--Suggs Mill Pond bear sanctuary
29            Brunswick County--Green Swamp bear sanctuary
30            Buncombe, Haywood, Henderson and Transylvania counties--Pisgah bear sanctuary
31            Carteret, Craven and Jones counties--Croatan bear sanctuary
32            Clay County--Fires Creek bear sanctuary
33            Columbus County--Columbus County bear sanctuary
34            Currituck County--North River bear sanctuary
35            Dare County--Bombing Range bear sanctuary except by permit only
36            Haywood County--Harmon Den bear sanctuary
37            Haywood County--Sherwood bear sanctuary

 1            Hyde County--Gull Rock bear sanctuary
 2            Hyde County--Pungo River bear sanctuary
 3            Jackson County--Panthertown-Bonas Defeat bear sanctuary
 4            Macon County--Standing Indian bear sanctuary
 5            Macon County--Wayah bear sanctuary
 6            Madison County--Rich Mountain bear sanctuary
 7            McDowell and Yancey counties--Mt. Mitchell bear sanctuary except by permit only
 8            Mitchell and Yancey counties--Flat Top bear sanctuary
 9            Wilkes County--Thurmond Chatham bear sanctuary
10   (c) Bag limits shall be:
11            (1)      daily, one;
12            (2)      possession, one;
13            (3)      season, one.
14   (d) Kill Reports. The carcass of each bear shall be tagged and the kill reported as provided by 15A NCAC 10B
15   .0113.
