Kristina Douglas, Lead Montessori Preschool Teacher
Hi, my name is Kristina Douglas, and I was born and raised in Washington. I recently
moved back to Seattle from Austin, Texas and in August of this year got married. My
husband and I are now living in Woodinville with our English bulldog, Spike.
I have always had a love for children and have been working with them since I
was thirteen and started babysitting. I graduated from Western Washington University,
where my focus of study was in Psychology/Human Development. After graduating I
worked as a nanny, and then moved to Texas where I received her Montessori
Certification and worked as a lead teacher.
My goals for this year are to create a safe and caring learning environment, where
the children enjoy learning and we all have fun!
Outside of work I love spending time with my family and friends. I enjoy being
outdoors, camping, hiking, and playing with her dog. Seeing the world and experiencing
different cultures is my passion. I have been to 20 countries and have no plan of ever
stopping. I also have fun scrapbooking and doing arts and crafts.
Lisa Butterworth, Assistant Preschool Teacher
My name is Lisa Butterworth and I am excited to be working with your children this
year. I have lived in California my whole life and just recently made the move to
Washington. Shortly after moving I gave birth to my first child (little boy named Jackson
born April 2011) I’m excited to balance mommy-hood while working! I have worked
with kids for over 15 years in a variety of different settings, including preschool, toddler
rooms, after schoolteacher, and in home as a nanny. I have worked with all ages and find
that I enjoy the preschool age (3-5yrs) the most. I love watching and encouraging
individual growth as well as teaching the children how to socialize in appropriate ways. I
believe that by loving and supporting the child’s individual needs you promote self-
esteem and confidence. I look forward to bringing out the best in your child while
watching them grow at their own pace. I can’t wait to see what this year holds for your
children and me!!
