Vision
About PowerNet Vision
PowerNet Vision expands your field of view and extends your
management capabilities over your entire RF network.
Vision is a 32-bit, Windows based network tool that eases the
burden of installing, administering, and upgrading your 2.4 GHz and
900 MHz RF systems.
About PowerNet Vision
PowerNet Vision Console
Vision Agent
PowerNet Vision uses a Server/Agent relationship to receive RF
network information from Agent PCs residing on neighboring
network segments. This architecture enhances performance and
provides a single point of administration for all RF devices.
Agent PCs communicate consolidated RF Network information and
Access Point statistics back to the PowerNet Vision Console
utilizing minimum network bandwidth.
Network Tree View
PowerNet Vision’s graphical network tree shows a detailed structure of all
network segments with Access Points, Transceivers, and RF Terminals.
Each RF device is represented as an icon that may be renamed and chosen to
reveal transaction statistics, IP address, and MAC address information.
The Network Tree View is automatically updated every few seconds to show
RF Terminals roaming between Access Points.
Network Analyzer View
The Network Analyzer Utility shows Source and Destination IP
and MAC address information and even identifies the type of
Access Point involved in transactions.
Wireless Traffic is categorized into frame, frame header, and
frame content information.
Diagnostic Log File Viewer
Use PowerNet Vision to view Connect’s patented diagnostic log files
Debug Levels may be set from 0-9 for General, Display, Formatter,
Dialog, Mobile Unit Interface, Presentation Space, 3270 and 5250
Datastream, and 3270 SNA parameters
AP Configuration
PowerNet Vision provides three separate ways to manually configure
Access Points. Use the PowerNet Vision standard parameters form to
supply the necessary settings, then, based on the support offered by the
manufacturer, each Access Point may be configured using the Serial
Interface, the Telnet Interface, or through SNMP.
Auto Configure Utility
The Auto Configure utility allows for the designation of any Access
Point in a segment to be labeled as the Default Access Point.
Subsequent Access Points plugged into the same network segment may
be auto-configured using the settings of the Default Access Point. The
IP address of the new Access Points are assigned based on a range of
IP addresses supplied in the Segment Address Management Form.
Access Point installation time is reduced significantly, along with labor
expenses.
