Infringements are recorded at the offence date

The data is based on the number of infringements issued by the main highway camera systems: EastLink (excluding tunnels), Geelong Road and Western
Ring Road.

The data includes infringements issued for speeding offences only
The infringement numbers reported in the July to September 2011 data are expected to be lower than the actual numbers. This is a result of the police
industrial action from 30 September to 24 October 2011 which caused delays in the processing of infringement notices for offences dated during this quarter.

The number of infringements issued may be subject to variation over time as infringements may be withdrawn or reissued
