by Jamie York and seconded by Kent Perrine.

Old Business:

None

New Business:

Homecoming BBQ: The 3rd Annual Homecoming Barbecue will be held towards the end of May. In

the past we have been asked to help with things like ice chests, hauling drinks, tables and chairs, set-up,

serving and clean-up. Food and refreshments will be served.

Reception: A reception will be held for Assistant Chief Dvorak in the SMPD Auditorium honoring her

thirty years of service with the department on April 15th at 4pm. Please plan on attending if you are

available. She has been a great advocate for the CPAAA.

National Convention: Greg discussed that the CPAAA will not send a representative to the Annual

National Convention (scheduled for the end of this month.) We may look into spending the money

allotted for conventions toward sending more people to the State Convention.

Warnings for Speeding: Ed Davis volunteered information about writing warnings for speeding and

described how the process has worked in other places. He described about begin trained with a radar

gun, identifying the necessary information and the penalties for the person speeding. He reported that it

is being done nationwide and they have seen good results so far. The mayor has turned it over to the

city staff at the last council meeting to decide if the CPAAA could participate in this program.

Adjourn: The meeting was adjourned with a motion by Kent Perrine, seconded by Allen Hamlin.

Next Meeting: The next meeting will be held on Tuesday, May 13, 2008 at 6:00 p.m. at the SMPD.
