MOTHERSHIP
I had no idea when I started this journey where it was going to lead
And the processes involved in getting there…
But, oh well, this whole year has been a process of understanding
so why not give it a go? I dove right in and low and behold!
I landed in the middle of IWD!
What a hoot! I’m meeting myself! Is this where I wanted to be?
But that all aside, and as amusing as it is….I reflected on events and I see…
I’m working in the Mothership! What a glorious place to be!
Do you have any idea how special that is? Only once in a lifetime at most,
and probably more likely once every five or ten depending on what you have seen
…and done and been….The special thing about the Mothership is you get to rest for a while
and be who you are, get hugs all around, and the opportunity to reflect on who you have
been…and who you are becoming. You have given me that here –
the space to be and the opportunity to take myself seriously as a Social Worker.
The most special thing about the Mothership is her Crew.
She hand picks them you know, so they will always be there for you.
They are empowered to the greatest degree.
And they are still growing and learning the same as you and me,
the difference is, they know it and they also remember and care.
They subtly demand a lot of you, namely to be yourself and that is what you wear.
I’ve learned it’s okay to expose myself (even my underwear – blush).
(not in mixed company, of course).
So thank you to Mother Gaia I feel privileged to have been chosen
And I do feel the lives of your crew and I are now and in the future interwoven
in that wonderful matrix that we call life.
I hope you feel I have given back to you. I do and I am content.
And now I go back to the rest of the world, as is the destiny of Mother’s chosen,
But I will never forget the location of the Mothership, nor of that of her Crew.
You are etched in my heart forever.
I am one of the fortunate few.
Thank you to each and every one for your part in my personal and professional growth and
understanding. I feel incredibly humbled, honoured and privileged to have been allowed to be
a part of you for the last four months.
