2012 Scholarship Application
About the Scholarship
The Seattle/Tacoma Chapter of the Calvin Alumni Association is accepting applications for its
2012 Chapter Scholarships. Any student from the Seattle and Tacoma area planning to attend
Calvin College for the first time in the Fall of 2012, as either a freshman or a transfer student, is
eligible to apply.
Selection Criteria
The Chapter Scholarship Committee will select the recipients based upon the following criteria:
Academic promise
Articulation of educational plans and reasons for attending Calvin College
Christian commitment and personal character
Financial need
Interviews may be conducted if deemed necessary by the Scholarship Committee.
Deadline
Deadline for application submission to the Scholarship Committee is February 1, 2012. This
deadline is non-negotiable. Please note: only applications and letters of reference post-
marked or delivered on or before February 1, 2012 will be considered.
Instructions
Applicants must file a financial aid application with the Calvin College Financial Aid office.
The following materials must be submitted either together or separately, by mail or email, to the
address below:
Completed application form, including essay(s).
High school transcripts.
Two letters of reference submitted in sealed envelopes--see the attached recommendation
form. References can not be relatives. One reference must come from a teacher or guidance
counselor at school and the other reference may come from a pastor or someone else of
choosing.
