                                                            Guidelines for Habitat Affiliates
                                                                                       Quick Reference Guide

Announce funding received
December is the time of year when Thrivent Builds funding is announced to affiliates. Once funding is
allocated, affiliates may begin to announce their participation and overall impact of the program within their
community. You can do this using social media, adding a news release to your website and sending a news
release to your local media.

Develop your publicity plan
Work with the Thrivent Financial’s Lutheran Engagement Team (LET) to create a publicity plan for the duration
of your Thrivent Builds Homes project. Use the marketing and publicity templates and materials on, search tools by topics and select media contact and promotion.

Maintain brand identity
Always use Thrivent Builds with Habitat for Humanity branded materials which have been approved by both
Habitat for Humanity International and Thrivent Financial. This will help achieve recognition for the alliance and
help avoid misunderstandings. The Thrivent Builds logo provided on approved materials may not be altered in
any way, nor may the Thrivent Financial for Lutherans or Habitat for Humanity International logos be altered.
Because this is a national program, the Habitat for Humanity International logo should remain on all materials.

Approval and reporting
With all Thrivent Builds new releases, marketing and publicity plans, be sure to coordinate with the LET staff so
that work is not duplicated. Be sure to track your efforts, as well as their results and report monthly on the
project status report. All other material provided in the Thrivent Builds Resources site does not require
approval, as long as only the provided customizable fields are changed.

Signage must appear at build site
Habitat affiliates are responsible for making sure appropriate Thrivent Builds signage appears at the build sites
in a prominent position from the first day of the build through its conclusion. It must be in compliance with
signage requirements as described on the Sign Order Form. Partner family name may be removed from
the sign, if the affiliate wishes. No logos may be altered.

Affiliates have two options for obtaining Thrivent Builds signage for the build site. Regardless of which option is
selected, the sign must adhere to the standards set in the pre-made artwork provided on, search tools by topic, select signage/displays.

  Option 1: Fill out the Thrivent Builds Homes Sign Order Form. The affiliate is responsible for the sign cost,
   which is $48.50 per sign, plus shipping.
  Option 2: Select a local vendor to produce the approved Thrivent Builds Homes sign, which must adhere to
   the standards set in the pre-made artwork.
