Different kinds of work:
There are many new styles of work in the world – they have been developed to
accommodate the new “flexible” lifestyle that many jobs have created for people.
Match the work style with the proper definition:
Part Time work 1. Hired for a specific time of year. For instance
apple picking or strawberry picking
Contract work 2. Several workers will hold down different jobs at
one time, and have several careers/jobs over their
lifetime.
Seasonal work 3. For a certain period of time – for a specific role
and job description.
Job Sharing 4. Four days of work, ten hours each, creating a full
40 hours of work with 3 days off.
Flex time 5. A great way for companies to save costs on rent,
supplies and overhead while employees benefit
from being at home with family
Shift Work 6. Working for your own company, hiring others and
managing your own business and time
Compressed work week 7. Partners share work hours allowing for more time
with families and personal commitments
Work from home 8. Irregular work hours, maybe some weekends,
nights and longer or shorter days. For work that is
not generally used by the public during regular
hours
Telework 9. Less than 40 hours/ week – Employers save on
employee benefits, workers can hold down a
couple of different jobs at once
Self-employment 10.Companies can maintain double or triple
production by having around the clock workers in
different time slots working on the same
projects/products
Multiple jobs 11.Work at home for a company using internet or
