CBSA Occupancy of new Port facilities Fall 2008
New facilities approximately 3 times the size of the old port
10 PIL Lanes – 2 Dedicated Nexus Lanes
Building incorporates many green energy efficient systems –
seeking LEEDS Gold certification
Corresponding US Port – Peace Arch

PORT DEVELOPMENT PROJECT -
UNDER DEVELOPMENT
ST. STEPHEN, N.B.
Site construction commenced March 2008;
Construction is completed and port has been
operational since November 2009;
Final commissioning to be completed;
New port has 4 travellers lanes and 2 dedicated
commercial lanes.

Doubling-up Initiative
CBSA will be increasing staff at all ports of entry to
eliminate “work alone” situations;
A number of the smaller CBSA port facilities cannot
accommodate additional staff without major renovation
or replacement.:
