TEACHING WRITING

There are some basic consideration in preparing teaching writing. First, Process versus

product, in teaching product, teacher mostly concerned with the final product of writing the

essay, the report, the story, and what that product should “look” like. In making

composition, were supposed to; a) meet the certain standard of prescribed Englis rhetorical,

reflect acurate grammar, and c) be organized well and conventional.

But nowadays, besides teacher concern on product, it is also better to concern to the process

approach to writing instruction, as follows:

1. Focus in the process of writing that lead to the final written product:

2. Help student writers to understand their own composing process;

3. Help them to built repertories of strategies for prewriting, drafting, revising.

4. Give student time to write and rewrite;

5. Place centra importance on the process of revision;

6. Let student discover what they want to say as they write;

7. Give student feedback throughout to composing process (not just the final product) to

consider as they attempt to bring their expression closer and closer to intention;

8. Encourage feedback both from instructor and peers;

9. Include individual conferences between teacher and student during the process of

composition.

Second, the teacher considers the constructive rhetoric or the differences of the student

pattern in writing Englis based on their cultural backgroun. The last, how authentic are the

classroom writing exercise the teacher and student to preform, and why does the teacher

want the student to write in school.

Here are some techniques that usually uses in pratice:

1. Presentation

Relying on the student to come out in front of the class and assist in the demonstration

will only work it the teacher can tell them what to do simply and breifly. The teacher

uses visual aids that are real object rather than pictures in the stages, to avoid confusing

the students.

2. Practice

Practice is the learning stage where the student are give chance to make report based on

the picture that preserved by the teacher. The student must pratice only what they have

already practical. In this stages, the student are asked to do some activities that can be

improving their knowledge about something that they learn.

3. Production

Production is the active stages of learning. In this stage, the student are trying to convert

their thought of feeling in writing form using their own words. For the example, the

teacher shows a new picture then ask the student to make an opinion based on the
