Axis offers complete network DVR-based video
surveillance system
Axis Communications today launched the AXIS 2460 Network DVR Surveillance Bundle, a
new all-inclusive package for video surveillance. The package consists of an AXIS 2460
Network Digital Video Recorder (DVR), two or four analog cameras, cabling, camera
mounting accessories and hard disks. The bundle supplies all the components needed to
quickly and easily set up a video surveillance system that provides remote access to live and
recorded images, as well as improved digital storage of video.
While digital video solutions are increasingly being implemented in the security and surveillance video
market, many companies still rely on analog camera systems. With the help of networked digital video
recorders like the AXIS 2460 Network DVR, video from analog cameras can be converted into digital
format for improved storage on hard disks (rather than on traditional VCR tapes). It eliminates the need
to manage vital system tasks such as changing tapes and performing maintenance on the VCR
mechanics.
In addition, the AXIS 2460 Network DVR attaches directly to any IP network, enabling convenient
access to live and recorded video from anywhere using a standard Web browser. No extra software or
hardware is needed. The AXIS 2460 Network DVR effectively increases the performance of the
surveillance solution. Axis’ DVR Surveillance Bundle is ideal for large retail chains, franchise
operations or any business that requires unmanned visual security.
The AXIS 2460 Network DVR Surveillance Bundle will be available through Axis’ distribution
