									                                     NYSDOT Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP)


The Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) is a list of all projects in New York State for which Federal funding
proposed to be used that are scheduled to begin within a designated time frame of four federal fiscal years. This time frame i
by the federal law known as the Safe, Accountable, Flexible, Efficient Transportation Equity Act - A Legacy for Users. The mos
STIP for New York State was formally approved on October 1, 2010. This STIP covers the period between October 1, 2010, an
September 30, 2014.

The second sheet displays the data field descriptions for the column headings in the Excel download of the STIP database.

The STIP Project Listing for a specific Region is located on the third sheet and has one row for each phase of each project that
2011-2014 and has Federal Funds, Local Funds or Both. The project description may appear multiple times, if more than one
funded in the four year period.

The fourth sheet displays the STIP Project Listing excluding projects with $0 Local match. It shows one row for each non-fede
source for each phase of each project. The data from the phase and project records may appear multiple times if more than
federal source is associated with a phase or more than one phase is associated with a project. The purpose of the extract is t
