Introduction to „Medical Exorcism‟-draft 3
This book is the foundation knowledge of the training that I offer in medical exorcism for
my students and apprentices. Within this volume, the focus is on the theoretical,
medical-psychological and case study aspects of the body of knowledge. The inner and
secret skills and insights of the subject are taught personally by me through the
apprenticeship method of teaching my students.
In this introduction I use the term „exorcism‟ in its cover-all form because within this
particular sphere of my profession I also deal with the following issues: strange
phenomena, anti-black magic work, kundalini syndrome, intensely charged emotions,
placating a geographic spirit of place, the healing of aborted children and regretful
unfinished business mothers, disempowering wanna-be witches and magicians,
fascination with evil, medical and psychological explanations, things that appear to be
something but turn out otherwise, and the clearance of space.
I decided to begin teaching these insights and skills in response to the self-important
nonsense being peddled in the new age community who proclaim themselves as
channel-mediums, ghost-busters and ghost-whisperers.
The exorcism and sorcery skills that I teach and practice are founded upon an organised
scientific method of inquiry rather than a pseudo-spiritual hodge-podge of a bit of this
with a bit of that. In this work everything is tested and proven with both reason and
repeated experiments. Faith, listening to guides and angels, or relying upon ever-
shifting, superficial beliefs have no place in the Tong Ren system. To this end, I have
designed a reliable diagnostic method as well as clinically effective methods for
addressing post-possession after care when they are needed.
If you are going to work as an exorcist it is vital that you have a repertoire of prayers,
mantras and invocations that you can feel really confident of their immediate
effectiveness. As in all trades and professions, you need the right tools and generally the
best tools. The best tool to take on a job is common sense that is supported by in-depth
knowledge and personal experience.
From my constant research, experimentation and skills development I have re-invented
the secrets of mantra-craft in order to restore their magical and spiritual power.
However, from my discussions with practitioners of various mantra-use traditions it is
clear that effective and testable mantra skills have been lost from the mainstream
traditions of India and Tibet. Several years ago when a practitioner of modern Tibetan
medicine, Dr Nida gave a retreat on mantra healing, he was unable to produce any affect
with any of the mantras that he was reciting from his little book, despite the claims he
made of his power. This was rather disappointing, and showed a lack of western level
integrity on his part. A teacher who is unable to actually demonstrate his ability to his
students is just a cheap fraud. I have found this kind of practice is very common among
Tibetan Buddhist teachers and American Indian teachers.
My students learn to objectively and testably use mantras for medical uses almost
immediately in their training. At a higher level, they then learn mantra-craft from an
exorcism and anti-black magic standpoint.
There is an old adage that goes like this “you should know everything about something
and something about everything”. Put in another way, if you are truly master of a
subject, then you also know enough about ten to fifteen other subjects that support it by
2
providing wider frames of usable reference points as well as an inter-disciplinary and
comprehensive resource of technical skills from which to draw upon.
I train my apprentices to have a wide knowledge base and apart from reading my books
and course material I encourage them to look elsewhere for facts and opinions of other
people in a wide variety of subjects. This is turn makes teaching them more interesting
for me as I see their questioning intellects grow and prosper and we have more to share
and discuss. This is one of the hallmarks of the Tong Ren system which I haven‟t seen in
practice or theory anywhere else in the world.
I also teach my apprentices the ability to reason through a situation and to be able to
problem-solve, and as well, to be available to the unexpected of any circumstance.
These abilities only come from having a wide knowledge and experience of how people,
places and animals as well as the various species of inner-world Beings individually live
and how they co-exist or antagonise each other. With this personally accumulated
knowledge and direct experience my apprentices get to understand that while anything
is possible, fewer things are likely to be probable.
The case studies in this book reflect at least most of the different categories of situations
that can be experienced in this field of work. Each case study is a teaching-example with
at least one something to consider and to learn. Religion plays no part in my work unless
a client needs a particular religious context through which to be delivered and healed.
Case Studies
The fifty odd case studies that I have organised into twenty-three different categories
demonstrate that exorcism is a lot more than the mythic religious struggle between so-
called good and evil. The doctrine of good and evil is relative to whose side you are one,
who is winning, who is losing, as well as the circumstances of the time.
These twenty-three categories with their associated case studies contain a lot of
teaching material that needs to be considered over and over again.
These categories include:
Ancestral
Bogus psychic self-defence
Clearance
Damaged people
Complicated cases
Demonic
Disturbed
A new person
3
Failure of ministers
Fascination with evil
Genie in a bottle
Incubus
Kundalini
Life purpose
Madness looking like enlightenment
Magically charged objects
Paying attention
Psychic nasties
Sex
Spirit of place
Training someone in sorcery
Visitations
Voluntary possession
Voodoo at a minor level
Ancestral
The interaction between the ancestors and the living generally make for some very
interesting cases. The ancestors can poison a family line; offer firm leadership with a
kick up the arse when necessary; want to be acknowledged as still relevant to the living;
want their individual needs to be met which can include respect, offerings, discussions or
even a better burial ceremony or burial-plot.
The range of cases in this area of my work includes finding an ancestral poisoner;
counselling unsettled ancestors; working with fellow jewish people to release their
ancestors from the holocaust and the earlier pogroms that were set against them; and
the ancestors who find ways of living again through their descendents just to name a
few examples.;
As well, I have a significant amount of work when Maori and Islander ancestors want a
particular descendent of the living generation to embrace the customs and religion of the
pre-christian era. Working with the Maori and Islander ancestors who were when alive,
people of spiritual and magical importance is one of the more secret skills of what I do.

Bogus psychic self-defence
Psychic self-defence is another of those silly pseudo-magical pretend practices. It is like
the incompetent protecting themselves from the also incompetent. If psychic self-
defence (as well as psychic attack) is to be taken seriously then both the attacker, as
well as the receiver need to have their skills actually tested by someone who knows what
they are doing.
Clearance
Space clearing is one of those fundamental skills any person should have, whether it is
playing loud music; banging pots and pans; singing beautiful songs; praising your lord;
or reciting prayers, invocations or mantras. Unfortunately, space clearing has become a
theatrical exercise and has become a segment of the new age spiritual-entertainment
industry.
Complicated cases
It is your ability to solve the complicated cases that determines if you are a skilful
practitioner or just another hack trying their hand at something. This statement holds
true for all trades and professions. It is the complicated cases that evolve your growth
both as a person and as a practitioner of your art. Complicated cases force you to
consider, then to re-consider everything that you have in your repertoire of insight and
skills. Complicated cases force you to look for new perspectives from which to adapt
from. And finally, complicated cases force you to get out of your own way and be
available to the unexpected.
When we no longer have a formal teacher, it is the complicated cases that become our
mentor.
Demonic
Who knows where, the species of life form that we refer to as Demons really do come
from, and what is their place in the whole unknown scheme of how things really are. I
have encountered the smug ones and the stupid ones, the violent ones and the seething,
with impotent frustration ones, and I have also encountered the ones that would have
over-powered me if I wasn‟t careful enough.
in my decades of work, I have found that there are many kinds or species of what we
tend to call, demon. the many kinds or species are defined by their particular needs,
behaviours and their basic nature.
After all of my encounters, it isn‟t possible for me to tell you that I truly understand
them as a species. However, I do more than suspect that they are not actually friends of
us humans unless our mind and body becomes their personal means of living through us
to be among us. Who knows why, they as a species like to live through a human body.
Disturbed
I have many clinical tools in my professional repertoire. When couples employ me to
diagnose and restore their relationship I first work with each individually sorting out their
health issues and behavioural drivers. I then test the depth of their mutual emotional
bond in the intimacy of yab-yum. Within three minutes, it is always obvious as to who is
the poisoner in the relationship, or if they are not actually seeping poison, who is the one
who is withholding from the other. In a monogamous relationship, the person who is
5
withholding themselves might as well be rooting their way around town. It is the same,
of just not being there.
A new person
These cases are when someone is wholly taken over by a spirit and need to be re-
integrated as their old former-selves again once the visitor has been asked to leave. In
one of the case studies, in hindsight I would have left things as they were, as their
relationship was vastly improved because of the woman being taken-over.
Failure of ministers
Ministers of religion, priests and priestesses of all descriptions, and lamas like to peddle
superstitions as basic human truths, and offer false hope of a place in heaven, or the
possibility of enlightenment in one lifetime. Religion is about making promises and
commitments that the practitioners are not required to deliver upon. In the business
world, this same behaviour would be called fraud.
Religion always chooses to ensure its position of authority rather than to free people to
actually find them-selves as well as improving their circumstances in life. Local to world
movements of practicing basic human goodness always comes from inspired individuals
who see a need around them and then get off their arses.
Fascination with evil
It is a human instinct to be a little fascinated with evil. There appears to be common
basic and archetypal need to be over-whelmed and owned by something erotic, hot and
seductive.
Incubus
Incubi and succubi are a rather fascinating species phenomena. They are not of human
kind and they are not demonic either. It is obvious that they belong to another species
stream of evolution. Unlike demons that want to own your mind and body, incubi and
succubi want instead to have sexual and even romantic relationships with humans. What
explains their yearning for human sexual and emotional inter-action I am unable to give
you answers that completely satisfy my-self.
Kundalini
Kundalini is one of the major ironies of what is commonly called the path. Although
classically trained yogis discipline themselves for it by building up intense internal
pressure, and mis-guided new agers do kapalabhati type breathing exercises to try to
artificially ignite it, true kundalini experience remains elusive.
Statistically, I have found that this sexual-neurological force ignites much more often
within people who haven‟t heard of it, and don‟t want it in their life. I have met many
green-eyed yogis who were cranky that someone who hadn‟t trained and disciplined
themselves spiritually had a Kundalini awakening before they themselves did.
Life purpose
6
There is a case study where a client, once he was free of his possessing-entity found
both meaning to his life as well as his life purpose. His meaningful life journey concerns
the flowers found on the roadside telegraph poles.
Madness looking like enlightenment
There are occasions when young, idealistic people who also have a condition of excessive
heat in the head, mistake the beginning of their sliding into madness for the state that
people often mistakenly call “enlightenment”.
Paying attention
My own skills development is founded upon paying attention to what is happening
around me in both people and the environment, as well as always setting up
experiments to prove or disprove whatever interests me in any given moment or
situation that presents itself.
When you pay attention, people around you tend to think that you have magical powers.
I don‟t have any magical powers, just common sense, a lot of confidence, and I know
exactly what I am doing.
Psychic nasties
Psychic nasties are like little living gargoyles that like to annoy you. Of all the psychic-
beings, these little nasties are the most commonly encountered. They can be stubborn in
the extreme, so being nice to them isn‟t really an effective treatment strategy.
Sex
Many exorcism cases relate to issues of sex. Often spirits wrap themselves around the
genitals in order to experience the nourishment of their host having sex, or that the
spirit wants all of the host sexual energy for itself. Remember that every living thing
requires some kind of sustenance in order to sustain their life.
Spirit of place
Spirits of Place are like the landlord of their local geographic environment. They can
choose to remain hidden or sometimes they demand acknowledgement and offerings of
incense, candlelight, food or water.
Training someone in sorcery
When someone I know wants to study with an indigenous shaman of some kind, I teach
them how to stand up to any predatory behaviour that they might be subjected to.
However, most of the things that are represented as shamanism or shamanistic are just
blatant shams. If you objectively look at their curriculums you will see all kinds of fluffy
skills but no real training in the more difficult of the shaman-craft skills.
In the belt-bag of shaman-craft skills that I teach, there are no physical tools or
implements to carry around. The belt-bag of my apprentices and students is held in the
trained use of their mind and is intimately wedded with their high level of personal
effectiveness, their skills with intellectual and perceptual rigor, their competence in
effectively using a wide range of technical skills that are also wedded to accurate and
7
testable explanations, and their ability to respond and interact with the world around
them and also that within themselves.
When someone tells me that they are a shaman I invite them for a test of basic skills,
which for some peculiar reason, is always declined. We all know that if you are
competent and confident in what you can do, a bit of skills testing can be a lot of fun and
both people can learn something useful.
However, when I meet a student of shamanism, I am encouraging but I ask them to
consider why at their particular level of training, they are unaware of certain things and
to bring the issue up when they next go to shaman school.
shaman-craft training from beginner to true master level is provided within the iron
kilaya and red yogini tradition
Visitations
Being visited by inner-world Beings as well as all kinds of spirits are common
experiences for many people. Sometimes you have no inclination to talk to the visitors
while at other times you welcome them like an old friend.
Voluntary possession
There are times when a person will consciously allow a friend or relative to live within
them when they no longer have a body. This often happens in war time, when a soldier
brings their friend home, or when in a street bombing your relative has been blown to
bits and their personal-spirit jumps into their nearest relative or even just the nearest
person who is still alive.
Voodoo at a minor level
Sometimes people can be over-whelmed by music and dance to the point where they are
completely taken-over as if they were possessed like in the voodoo rituals we see on TV.
It happened to two of my friends once.
In terms of Tibetan tantra, this book represents the outer teachings of my non-buddhist,
modern re-write of the ‘razor that destroys at a touch’. This is the Nyingma Vajra Kilaya
manual on tantric sorcery. To my apprentices, I teach the next volume which I have
called the ‘Clear-Mind Razor that Transforms at a Touch’.
Among the duties in my life is to preserve the traditional secret teachings while also
updating them with best current knowledge as well as making them congruent with
modern personal and societal values.
