ORANGE + BLACK TIGERS.
By Lara Kennedy
WITH THE TIGERS
Have you seen a big black and orange striped
cat? Did you see the cat with a cub? If you have
not, the cat is a called a tiger. Today I'm going to
tell you about them. There is a lot to learn about
the physical description, habitat, eating habits,
and life cycle of the tiger. Be ready!
BIG CATS
Tigers are very big cats. They are orange with
black striped bodies. They have a big tail and
have six times better eye sight than humans.
They have a pink nose to help them smell. They
have a lot of warm fur and weigh 620 pounds.
That’s why tigers are very big.
LIVING!
The tigers like living in shady places. Tigers live
in northeast China, Korea, eastern Siberia, or a
forest. In their habitat there is a lot of rain and
trees. In some places the habitat can change by
having four seasons. That’s where a tiger would
be happy living.
VERY STRONG
Tigers are very strong cats. They can eat 20
pounds of meat. They love to eat badgers, goats,
wild pigs, and elks. Tigers can hunt at night and
they know where there predators live. They eat
three times a day. They can chew when they eat.
That’s what a tiger snacks on.
LIFE CYCLE
A tiger has a lot of stages in their life cycle. The
first part is when they are born. They do not open
their eyes. They take ten years to grow from a
baby to an adult. They live up to twenty-six
years. You now know some of the life cycle of a
tiger.
NOW YOU KNOW
Tigers are very cute, and nice to their cubs. They
sometimes are mean to bears. The next time you
see a big black and orange cat, you will know it’s
a tiger. You might even see one in the forest.
