Daily Bulletin
Sept. 28, 2011
Lakewood High School is dedicated to educating students to become respectful, responsible, and
literate citizens with the skills to contribute to a global community.
Homecoming guest passes are available at the attendance window. They will be due today.
Fall College visits are lining up. Check the bulletin board for the latest info.
Attention all Lakewood students! As part of our homecoming celebration we'll be holding a non-
perishable food drive. The class collecting the most food will not only help themselves toward
winning homecoming, but the Lakewood Leadership Class is looking into special rewards for the
class doing the most for our community. Ask your mom, your neighbors and friends to help out those
less fortunate by donating. Collection bins are located with class advisors. Freshmen in the Art
Room with Mr. Walster, sophomores with seniorita Lentz, juniors with Ms. Hendry, and seniors with
Mr. Wohlgemuth.
A reminder to all students who ride the bus…..the busses will leave promptly every day after school at
2:05 – please make sure you are on time so you don’t miss your bus.
Homecoming dance tickets go on sale through Friday during both lunches. Avoid the rush and buy
yours today for the big night, Saturday October 1st from 8:00 to 11:00.
Remember to order your Homecoming flowers through HighSchoolFlowers.com by tonight at
midnight in order to get them delivered to the school on Friday. You can order online through their
website – HighSchoolFlowers.com – or by filling out an order form found in the office.
Students who have lost any items of clothing, etc., please check with the custodian. All lost and
th
found will be donated to Kids’ Kloset on October 4 .
Cougar Path reminder – Cougar Path is tomorrow – check the commons for room assignments.
Congratulations to the Class of 2015 on their lead in the homecoming point totals. Remember, the
canned food drive is worth double points for all classes. In the hopes of bringing in more food, Mr.
Walster, freshman class advisor, will give a piece of candy for each food item brought to the art room
through Friday regardless of what class you're in. Bring food in by the wheelbarrow load and walk
away with an armload of your favorite candy!
The Cougar Volleyball Team took on Archbishop last night playing them point for point the whole way.
Unfortunately the Cougs fell short in the end losing 0-3. Sr. Capt. Brittany Parmentier had 10 kills, Sr.
Capt. Kaylee Diggs had 8 kills, 10 digs, soph. Skylar Cannon had 4 kills, and soph. Kiana Smith had
16 digs. Soph. setter Kendall O’Kinsella put up 21 assists for her team. Our JV team BEAT Bishop 2-
1 last night, played incredibly solid and together! Our Team would like to thank the XC Team, FB
Team and fans for their support last night. Congrats to the Soccer team on their win!
GO COUGS!!!
Last night in soccer action the lady cougars made Sultan wish they hadn’t come to the beautiful town
of Lakewood. The JV team scored 10 goals behind 9 different scorers. Cortney St. Jean had 2 goals
while Lindsey Kerney, Jenna Grafenauer, Mikayla Holmes, Caitlin Giusti, Chase Gormley, Kylee
Kippen and Megan Knibbe each added one.
In varsity action the Turks had no answers as the cougars stormed to a 8-0 win. Leading the way
were Danielle Knapp and Arianna Barrio who each had 2 goals. Freshman Lindsey Kerney did
something no other LHS girls soccer player had done before; she scored in the JV AND varsity
games! In another feat of greatness, keepers Miranda Head and Kiley Brown each scored as well.

Also scoring was Shantel St. Jean The battle for 1 place in the Cascade Conference is tomorrow
