Hello Parents of Moss Dance & Performing Arts Academy Theatre Students:
Welcome to the 2008-2009 year of Theatre Workshop. We are so excited for a wonderful year of
Performing Arts! All the information that you find in this letter can be found on our studio website at
www.MossDanceAcademy.com . We do not have a search engine, so please remember to put that address
in your main top address bar.
This year our Christmas Show will be on Saturday, December 6, 2008 at the Carnegie Performing Arts
Center in Covington. The tickets can be purchased as of November 1, 2008 by calling the Carnegie Box
Office. Please remember, that this show will SELL OUT very quickly and if you want to make sure that
you get tickets, you must act fast! Our theatre Students will be doing two “Black Box” pieces. This means
that your child will need to wear black shoes, pants, and shirt, and depending on what part they play, they
will be required to add one or two pieces that will reflect their character. Our dress rehearsal for the
Christmas Show will be on Saturday, December 6, from 10am – 2pm at the Carnegie Performing Arts
Center. Our Show will be at 7pm on Saturday, December 6, with a call time of 6pm.
Our Musical Production this year will be SUESSICAL THE MUSICAL! We are so excited for this
production and look forward to a wonderful show. Our performances of SUESSICAL will be Friday, May
8th at the Carnegie Performing Arts Center in Covington. Tech week rehearsals for our Musical will be May
4th through 7th from 4-8pm at the Carnegie. Tech week rehearsals are MANDATORY. No student will be
allowed to miss tech week, unless they are ill. We will be doing 4 performances that day….10am, 12 noon,
6pm and 8 pm. Our two daytime performances will be for area school children. If you think that your
child’s class would like to come and see our production of SUESSICAL THE MUSICAL, please email us
at Amy.Moss@MossDanceAcademy.com . We usually have approximately 500 area school children come
to see our performances. General admission tickets to our performances can be purchased through the
Carnegie Box Office as of March 1, 2009. Remember that the 6 and 8pm performances sell out quickly, so
DO NOT wait to get your tickets!
Our end of year recital will be on May 23rd, 2009 at the COLLEGE OF MT. ST. JOSEPH in Cincinnati.
Our performance time will be 7:00 pm with a call time of 6:00pm. All Theatre Workshop students must be
in the end of year recital. We will be performing 5 of our musical numbers from SUESSICAL in the
recital.
On your November studio billing statement, you will see two additional charges to your normal tuition.
One charge will be $40.00 for 4 tickets to our End Of Year Recital on May 23, 2009 at the College of Mt.
St. Joseph. This is NOT a charge for SUESSICAL tickets. You get the musical tickets through The
Carnegie box office. This is very important to remember because every year we have parents who get the
two confused! The other charge that will appear on your November billing statement will be a $40.00
costume rental fee. This charge is for the rental of your SUESSICAL costume(s). Moss Dance &
Performing Arts Academy will have the costumes built by our Wardrobe Mistress for each student.
