How to create a FileZilla FTP user
Creating a Filezilla FTP user is a very simple process that can be completed in no time at all. When you
create a new Filezilla FTP user, you will be given the power to create specific permissions for the user,
including which folders they will be allowed to access.
Obviously, before you begin, you will need to ensure that Filezilla Server is already installed on your server.
You can find a tutorial that teaches you how to do just that here. Once it is installed, open the program and
go to the Edit menu. Select Users from the drop-down choices. Next, click Add.
An Add user account window will appear. This is where you will enter the name of the user account you want
to add. Make sure that the username is unique, different from any others that you will be creating. Once you
have entered the username, click OK.
In Account settings, make sure that the Enable account and Password boxes are checked. In the Password
field, type in the password to be associated with the new account.
Now you will create your permissions for the new account. Click on Shared folders. Next, click Add. Locate
the folder you want to share with the new user you are creating. Click OK. Select the permissions you wish
to grant the new user for the folder you have selected. Files have permissions for Read, Write, Delete, and
Append. Directories have permissions for Create, Delete, List, and add Subdirectories. Once you have
selected all the desired permissions, click OK.
You have now completed the creation of a Filezilla FTP user.
