Dear Eastman Bantam Hockey Player & Parents:
This year Hockey Manitoba has allowed regions to create Bantam AAA teams/programs
to participate in three (3) Hockey Manitoba Bantam AAA Showcase Tournaments along
with a Rural Bantam AAA Provincial Championship. The winner of the Provincials will
advance to play the champions of the Winnipeg Bantam AAA league for the right to
represent Manitoba at the Western Canadian Bantam Championships.
Eastman Minor Hockey will double roster our major bantam aged players so as to create
a full time, double rostered Bantam AAA development team. Players will play on their
regular season teams throughout the season and participate with their development team
on predetermined dates.
Goal of the Program
The goal of this program is to enhance the development of players in the region
while providing them with the highest possible exposure to Provincial and
National Championships.
First Stage Outline & Agenda
Friday, September 16, 6:30 to 7:30 – Practice (1/2 team)
Friday, September 16, 8:00 to 8:30 – Parent/Player Meeting (TBA)
Friday, September 16, 9:00 to 10:00 – Practice (1/2 team)
Saturday, September 17, 9:15 to 10:15 – Scrimmage #1 (everyone)
Saturday, September 17, 10:30 to 11:30 – Goalie Clinic #2 (everyone)
Saturday, September 17, 2:15 to 3:15 – Scrimmage #2 (everyone)
Sunday, September 18, 10:30 to 12:45 - Full Exhibition Game with Refs (everyone)
Concussion Testing will take place from on Friday from 6:30 to 10:00 (excluding parent
meeting), 1:00-2:00 Saturday and on Friday from 1:00 to finish.
Second Stage Outline & Agenda
Between 25 to 30 players will be selected to participate in the Second STAGE of
the program which will include 10-practices and 3-Showcase Tournaments.
Practices will include power skating, dry-land and fitness testing and training.

Second Stage Budget
Cost for the Second stage of the program will be:
$200.00 for all 10-2 hour practices
Cost for 3-tournaments is TBA. We have applied to host the second showcase
tournament in the communities of Steinbach, Mitchell and LaBroquerie, but no
decision has been made yet as to where this tournament will placed. If we host the
December tournament Parents are required to purchase or solicit one silent
auction prize valued at $25.00 and to organize and run the Showcase Tournament
held in Steinbach, Mitchell and LaBroquerie from December 2-4, 2011.
Payment Schedule
1st payment of $200.00 due October 2, 2011
2nd payment TBA due November 27, 2011
Third Stage Outline & Agenda
A final 17-skater, 2-goaltender roster along with an Affiliate Player List will be
declared in mid-February. Affiliate Players (AP) will be asked to continue practicing
with the team and accompany the team to the Male Rural Bantam Provincial AAA
Championships from March 16-18. Host TBA.
Third Stage Budget
TBA - Budget will depend upon:
1. Travel, meals and accommodations to Male Rural Bantam AAA Provincials
2. Number of practices required
Forth Stage Outline & Agenda
If the Bantam AAA Selects capture the Male Rural Bantam AAA Provincials
the team and its AP’s will playoff in a best 2-of-3 series against the
champions of the City Bantam AAA league in the newly formed Provincial
Championship Series on March 23-25. Host TBA
Forth Stage Budget
TBA - Budget will depend upon:
1. Travel, meals and accommodations to Provincial Championship Series
2. Number of practices required

Fifth Stage Outline & Agenda
If the Bantam AAA Selects capture the Provincial Championship Series they
will represent Manitoba at the Western Canadian Bantam Championships in
Spruce Grove, Alberta from April 5-8, 2012.

1. Travel, meals and accommodations at Western Canadian Bantam
Championships in Spruce Grove, Alberta

Optional Events for Parents Consideration
Two tournaments have presented themselves over the past few weeks that are
outside of our planned itinerary and projected budget. They include:

If there is unanimous consent by parents to attend either one or even both events
planning needs to take
Parent Committee
At 12:00 noon on Sunday, October 2 a parent meeting will take place at the arena
in Steinbach in which a parent executive will be created.
The parent executive in conjunction with the General Manager will be responsible
for overseeing the Showcase Tournament in Steinbach-Mitchell-LaBroquerie,
providing a budget, transportation, accommodation and meal arrangements for the
Male Rural Bantam AAA Provincials and anything beyond.
