									             General Information - 18ft Skiff European Grand Prix - Weymouth August 2008

Venue

The Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy (WPNSA) is UK's leading sailing venue. It was recently
confirmed as the venue of the 2012 Olympics as part of London's succcesful bid in July and all it's facilities have
been upgraded already. The venue offers great sailing waters, either in Weymouth Bay or protected in Portland
Harbour. It is an ideal Skiff venue with plenty of space for rigging and almost guarantee of breeze due to it's

WPNSA is located in Dorset on the South West coast of England. Directions can be found on the WPNSA

Travel

Discounted ferry fares for all major routes have been organised via the company "Alternative Promotions". To
book follow these general instructions:

    1.   First identify which ferry or ideal crossing (eg Calais/Dover) etc that you wish to use and decided upon
         the rough time and date you wish to travel. Look at the relevant ferry company website (eg
         www.seafrance.com ) to find periods with lowest tariffs already (eg late evening / night)
    2.   Then telephone or Email the details and they will quote you the ferry price fare they can obtain for you.
    3.   Once you have agreed you will need to make arrangements to pay the full amount immediately. It is not
         possible to pay by credit card. Payment is made by Cheque in GB Sterling , International money order
         or Cash (Euros by registered post).

Alternative Promotion extend these discounted fares to friends and family of competitors and other parties
interested in these championships.

These fares are not available to the general public and can only be booked through Alternative Promotions. Early
booking is ESSENTIAL to ensure availability on sailings.

WPNSA's own accomodation in "Boscawen House" - http://www.wpnsa.org.uk/accommodation.htm - this only
