CU-Boulder Planning, Budget, and Analysis, August/September 2004
This analysis applies course fee rules for 04-05 to AY03-04 data in order to show the
structure of the rules
Course fee rules are for 04-05, from
http://bursar.colorado.edu/now/crfees.html
The following components of the rules have NOT been implemented here:
Maximum charges per student for courses in a single department (see SLHS for an example)
Charges affecting only summer-term courses
All course data (counts of courses, sections, enrollments, hours, SCH) are from fall 03 and spring 04
combined, from the end of the term. Only courses offered by B1 are counted (continuing ed excluded)
Each course is counted once even if cross-listed under various subjects/levels
Lab and recitation sections are excluded.
Columns in the table
N: Number of courses (example: PSYC3101)
Pct and number with any course fee, per the rules used for this analysis
Unit for charging the course fee: Fee is per course, or per credit hour, (or no fee)
Average fee, shown separately for per-course and per-credit-hour
AY primary sections: The number of sections in the AY, excluding lab and recitation sections
AY SCH = Total student credit hours in the AY
Estimated total course fee: Calculated by formula. Will NOT reconcile to billing records
