that we all are children of God and need to spread his

More Senior Reflections
Continued from back cover Proverbs 22:17
“Easter Lutheran has taught me what is most important in my life and given me faith, the best gift of “A merry heart does
all. Faith is so important because it has linked me with God who can help me through any obstacle
or situation or trial no matter how difficult it is. ELC has given me the tools I need to be successful good like medicine”
in life through my communion with God, a life-long journey, in which I become much closer to God
and have learned more about myself and others around me. ELC has had a positive impact on my
life and I will utilize the skills and faith I have learned and obtained to better outcome my future and
how I interact with others as well.” – Tyler Jackson
“My best memory at Easter Lutheran was going on a mission trip to Guatemala. It really opened my
eyes to the world and made me think and be more aware of how others live. I learned to think less
about myself and more about others. I will carry the memories of the people I crossed paths with,
and got to know for the rest of my life. I am attending Valparaiso University and I look forward to
carrying on my journey with God.” – Ellis Lichtfuss
“Easter Lutheran Church has affected my life and future in many ways, far too many to put into
words. Confirmation with my mentor Rose helped me grow and mature in my faith and everyday
life. I have learned to grow and mature in the work and love of Jesus Christ. Easter has helped me
overcome so many obstacles in my life by always providing me someone to talk to who can
understand my situation. Also, church has taught me how to be a better, loving, giving participant in
our community. They have taught me how to work hard and have faith in God and everything will
work out in the end. I am confident to say that Easter Lutheran Church has encouraged my faith in
God and I know that God has great plans for not only me, but the rest of the 2011 graduating
class.” – Mackenzie Hongsio
“The best memory I have of Easter Lutheran Church is my confirmation experience. In confirmation I made many long lasting
relationships with other guys in my group. With their help and the help of our leader Dean Czarnetski, I learned about my faith and what
it means to be a Christian. If it was not for confirmation, I would not have my solid belief in God.” – Kevin Cairo
“My favorite memory is the Boundary Waters Trip and helping rebuild the cabins after the fire. Also, the continued small group with our
mentor Chris Cairo has helped me maintain my close relationship to God.” – Eric Osterhues
“My best memory of Easter Lutheran Church would have to be

person in so many ways and I am forever thankful.” – Sophie
DesLauriers
“My best memory was going on Youthworks mission trips through
church. They were both a highlight of my summer and they
prepared me for the future” – Sam Lanners
“Of my experiences within Easter Lutheran Church, my mentor
group has the most significant impact on my life. I will be
attending St. Olaf College and double majoring in music and a
science related field.” – Dan Frankenfeld
“One of my favorite memories at Easter Lutheran was hanging
out with my confirmation group. Throughout the years of
confirmation we became very close and became supportive of
each other. We helped each other through the hard times and
kept the good ones coming. I’ll never forget the laughs I had with
them”. – Brooke Loeffler
“I will always remember the mission trip to Montana. On this trip I
was exposed to a different part of the world, a part that I may
otherwise not have gotten to experience. This trip enriched and
renewed my faith and I left Montana with a completely new and
more pure relationship with God. I will always remember that trip
going forward in my life and I will cherish the values I gained from
it forever. – Benjamin Sicoli

By Abby Fauts
We have all grown up with the story of Jesus
and how he was betrayed and died for our sins, but
sometimes we may need a more modern take on it. Jesus Christ Superstar, written by
Andrew Lloyd Weber and Tim Rice, is a hit rock opera now showing at Chanhassen Dinner Theatres
in Chanhassen and there is no denying that this is a must see. The story encompasses the last
seven days in Jesus’ life and covers both sides of the story, from Judas to Jesus. Chanhassen
describes the role of Jesus as “…a prophet/rock star.”
I experienced Chanhassen’s show and there was no time to breathe with the continuance of the
story and the power of the message. You could easily tell that the actors weren’t just acting, but their
body, soul and mind were completely involved in every movement, gesture and note sung. It was
very quiet in the audience the minute the show started and no one moved. We were all captivated
by this show.
Showing through July 30, Ticket information can be found at www.chanhassentheatres.com
