Dress Code for each category:
• Baby, Tiny, Little and Petite Miss Categories - Short Pageant Dress
• Junior Miss Category - Short Pageant Dress or Floor Length Dress
• Teen Miss Categories - Floor length gown (no strapless, no fully beaded or sequined, no
tight or form fitting attire)
• Miss Category - Formal Evening Gown
• Baby, Tiny, Little Mister Seedling Categories – Appropriate Casual or Western Attire.
Only the Miss Pine Tree Category will be permitted to wear strapless and/or full sequined or
beaded gowns, cutouts are not recommended.
Dress Codes must be followed or the contestant may be disqualified.
Photogenic Category Requirements: '
• Photo must be less than one year old
• Photo must be a head shot from the neck up
• Photo does not have to be black and white
• Photo should depict a good face shot
• Hats are acceptable
• 5 x 7 or larger are recommended but not required
• No blurry shots
• Photo should be a forward view with subject looking straight into the camera (no profiles,
over the shoulder, or shots from the back are recommended)
Rehearsal
• Rehearsal will be on Friday night, July 18, 2008 at 6:00 p.m. at the Dierks High School
Auditorium. Rehearsal is not mandatory, but is highly recommended in order to know the
walk pattern.
RULES AND REGULATIONS
In order for the pageant to run smoothly and be a success, everyone involved must follow the
pageant rules. To eliminate any misunderstanding, the rules listed below must be strictly followed
with no exceptions or the contestant may be disqualified and no entry form refunds will be
given if this occurs.
1. Contestant must not be or never have been married or pregnant.
2. The pageant and rehearsal will be held at the Dierks High School Auditorium.
3. Each contestant will compete in their appropriate age category in appropriate attire which is
outlined. Photogenic competition is optional in each category. Dress codes MUST be followed or the
contestant may be disqualified.
4. A category must have at least three contestants in order for competition. If a category falls short
of this required amount, the entrants will receive a full refund of their entry in this category only.
5. Each contestant will receive 1 free admission ticket. This free admission will include anyone who
is helping the contestant to get ready (Mothers, hairdressers, etc). All others must pay an admission
fee of $3.00.
6. Each contestant will receive 1 back stage pass for the person who will help her to get ready. No
one else will be allowed backstage. Backstage passes may be used by more than one person but at
different times. Too many people backstage cause confusion for the contestants and the Pageant
Officials.
7. Once the contestant is dressed and ready, all parents or coaches are to go to the audience.
Pageant officials will make sure the girls get to the proper place at the correct time. Exception: A
parent of the Baby, Tiny, and Little Miss contestants will be required to stay with their contestant
until their competition is completed.
8. No talking will be allowed back stage during the competition. Noise can be heard onstage and in
the audience.
9. It is the parents and contestant’s responsibility to make sure pageant attire fits properly.
Pageant Officials will not be responsible for showing slips, broken straps, torn hems, etc.
10. Dressing facilities will be provided. Pageant Officials do not provide mirrors or power strips
for electric rollers, curling irons, etc. It is not the responsibility of the Pageant Officials to find you
when you are needed for competition and you will be disqualified.
11. No verbal or physical abuse of any contestant will be tolerated.
12. Pageant Officials expect courtesy and respect. We encourage lady-like behavior and
appropriate attire at all meetings, rehearsals, and during the pageant. No profanity will be
tolerated.
13. The judges will be qualified and there will be NO QUESTIONING their final decisions. Score
sheets will be destroyed immediately after the pageant and may not be reviewed by anyone other
than the judges, the auditor, and the pageant officials. NO EXCEPTIONS.
14. Winners will receive a crown, trophy or plate, and banner. Runners-up will receive a
trophy or plate. All contestants 4 and under will receive a participation award. The
winner of the Miss Pine Tree will receive a $500 scholarship to Cossatot Community
College of the University of Arkansas.
15. Winners in each age division may be required to attend the Pine Tree Festival, ride in the Pine
Tree Festival Parade and the annual Chamber of Commerce Banquet and may be required to assist
the Pageant Officials in preparing for the 2009 Miss Pine Tree Pageant. Further, the Miss Pine
Tree Winner may be required to make an appearance at chamber ribbon cuttings and other
chamber activities.
16. If the winner of any category cannot fulfill the responsibility and duties of that category due to
family relocation, failure to comply with obligations, marriage or pregnancy, then the first runner-
up will assume the title and complete the year as the winner.
17. Pageant Officials, Dierks Public School, Dierks Chamber of Commerce nor the Miss Pine Tree
Pageant Committee will not be responsible for injury or lost articles during the rehearsal, pageant,
or parade.
18. Entry Fees will not be returned if the contestant has to drop out of the Pageant
