The Hurricane’s

Destruction

Hurricanes are very destructive from June 1 to

November 30. A Hurricane is a huge destructive

storm that is formed by water and can damage

buildings, tress, and cars. The center of a

hurricane is the lest destructive. When on land the

hurricane can create heavy rain, large waves, and

strong winds. The wind’s power from a hurricane

can be 75 to 200 mph. Hurricanes come in many

forms: Storm surge,

High winds,

Tornadoes, and

then pack and leave immediately.

• If you can’t locate a relative board up all

windows and bring in all objects that can be

blown away.

and know were all evacuation routes are.

The Island of

Curacao

It was 5:00 p.m. when we awoke to a horrible

rumbling sound of the wind. We walked outside

and found out that there was a Hurricane

coming to Curacao. So quickly gathered items

from outside that could be blown away. Then

we boarded all our windows. Soon we tried to

locate Uncle Wesley. When we couldn’t locate

him we decided to use our disaster plan. We

had to go to the attic.

Hurricane

Soon enough the wind started to pick

up. We then were frightened of the

strong winds and that the hurricane

would tear our house apart. Then we

were slowly tipping to the left. So

then we were scrunched up in the

left corner. Soon we were drifting in

the air. After many hours of spinning

we finally hit ground. We set there,

then we thought that the hurricane

had stopped. There was no wind,

whistling, or no splashing. We got out

of the attic. Now we knew how to

stay safe during a Hurricane.

After the Hurricane

After the hurricane we had to put

all our dry belongings in our attic

to keep them dry. Then we knew

we had to listen for a helicopter.

Soon we herd a helicopter over

our heads. Then we were rescued

and brought to a shelter, until we

had a dry home to go to. Now we

know how to prepare for a

hurricane next time around.
