                                        The Crown Jewel Club: Interns
JOB OVERVIEW
Crown Jewel Club is a nonprofit located approximately five minutes away from USC that helps change the lives of young girls
through manners and etiquette lessons. We are currently looking for interns in a variety of areas, including development
interns, Marketing/PR interns, and Web Interns.

The Development Interns would spend about 5-10 hours a week working on sponsorship and researching and writing grants;
the Marketing Interns would help to draft press releases and expand social network reach and would work for approximately
5-10 hours per week; and the Web Intern would help with programming and designing the Wordpress webpage.

Mark S. Wexler’s new documentary HOW TO LIVE FOREVER (http://LiveForeverMovie.com) seeks bright, highly-motivated,

Wexler’s latest film, HOW TO LIVE FOREVER, chronicles his curious, lively, and sometimes troubling enquiry into how he might
delay or even defeat death. Interns will gain considerable grassroots marketing and social media experience while prepping

RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting directly to the Director/Producer and Producer of Marketing and Distribution, interns will assist with community
outreach, social media initiatives, research, producing online content, promotion, fielding requests and other related tasks as
required.

QUALIFICATIONS
Our ideal candidate for this position has excellent oral and written communication skills, is organized and reliable and
demonstrates a passion for the film. They work well as part of a team, enjoy meeting new people and are able to take

Google Docs, spreadsheets, task management and other basic software is an asset, as is social media savvy. Applicants should
have their own computer.

TIME COMMITMENT & COMPENSATION

Operational:

       reducing ministerial down-time for the team.
       Client and lender database management.

       firm.
       Event planning and logistics.
       Assist with the expansion of key products including foreign national lending platforms and licensing requirements in
       other states.

Analytical:
       Analysis of commercial real estate income producing property operating statements, rent rolls, pro-formas,
       construction budgets, client balance sheets, appraisals, and environmental reports.
       Assist in negotiating pricing agreements, purchase and sale agreements, coordinating escrow, and the closing of
       transactions.
       Competitor, industry, and market analysis and clipping services.

Marketing
       On-site and on-campus research assignments of private equity firms, commercial real estate operators and investors,
       and high net worth individuals using the Bloomberg machine and proprietary web-based tools.
       Relationship building with decision-makers and high net worth individuals by attending industry
       networking/educational events and appointment setting.
       Creation of drip campaigns including writing articles about the industry.
       Email newsletter management and data collection.
       Graphic design work on collateral for quick roll-outs of new products and offerings for clients.
       Corporate social networking site management (Linkedin, Facebook) including contact expansion and sub-group
       management.

QUALIFICATIONS
Because there will be several positions available, internship applicants are welcome to focus in one of the areas offered or
cross-train across all three. General qualifications shall include:
         An interest in commercial real estate, finance, and accounting.
         One year of work experience in any field.
         Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
         Basic skills in Photoshop/Illustrator (not a requirement, but preferred).

In the summer of 2011, Teach For America will run eight institutes in Atlanta, Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, New York City,

members will come together for an intensive five-week, pre-service training program. The purpose of the institute is to

deliver a rigorous academic summer school program to more than 1,500 children in that school district.

Teach For America seeks operations coordinators to support the organization’s efforts to manage a summer training

INSTRUCTIONAL GOALS
This course is geared to students interested in gaining a general understanding of how the entertainment and media
industries operate as well as how IT, the Internet, and mobile technologies are changing the economics and management of
entertainment and media industries. The aim for students taking this course to:

· Attain an industry overview of the entertainment and new media industries
· Understand new communication and information technologies (e.g. Web 2.0, IPTV, WiMax, and 4G) and their effects on the
creative industries
· Analyze the effect of mobile technologies on interactive digital media
· Understand how to assess new business models and business opportunities
· Develop skills to systematically build new business models
· Learn the dynamics of the entertainment /media and IT ecosystem and value chains
· Understand emerging strategic management issues in this space
· Gain first-hand perspective of current strategies and new offerings

METHOD OF INSTRUCTION
This course will employ lectures, case studies, guest speakers from entertainment and new media companies, such as
Electronic Arts, Disney and Warner Brothers and site-visits to “Digital Hollywood” and entertainment companies. Guest
lecturers will provide current insights on the key challenges and opportunities in the industry and will represent various facets
of the industry ‟ the studios, short-form entertainment, gaming, and technology companies in wireless, networking and IT.

Sign up for the USC Marshall Alumni Association Board of New York’s 2010-2011 Undergraduate Mentoring
Program and be matched with an experienced professional in your industry.

The USC Marshall Alumni Association Board of New York seeks to grow and develop the Trojan Family network among
Marshall and Leventhal students and alumni in the tri-state area. We also welcome USC graduates who work in business but
are not Marshall alumni to join our community. Our mentors are New York-based alumni who are experienced professionals
across a variety of industries, including finance, accounting, marketing, real estate, law and more. The Board is currently
accepting participants for its 2010-2011 Undergraduate Mentoring Program. The goals of the Mentoring Program are to:

         Help young graduates get acquainted with the city
         Provide mentees with career advice specific to their industry of interest
         Assist mentees in developing a professional network
         Increase the impact and visibility of the Trojan network on the East Coast

The USC Asian Pacific Alumni Association (APAA) Scholarship Program awards scholarships to outstanding undergraduate and
graduate students at the University of Southern California. Recipients are selected on a basis of academic achievement,
personal merit, financial need and contributions made to Asian Pacific American communities.

BACKGROUND
Question Box is an innovative intercom system that brings information to areas with illiteracy, language and technical barriers.
Currently existing in India and Uganda, it allows the most remote areas to receive new information on health, education,
agriculture, business, and entertainment.

Rose Schuman holds a B.A. in Fine Arts from Brown University and a B.A. and Masters in International Development. Prior to
constructing the Question Box in 2006, Rose worked for several non-profit organizations, including Adaptive Eyewear, a
company dedicated to correcting vision in the developing world. Rose is also a DARSA Social Entrepreneurship Fellow and a
TEDIndia Fellow.

             WHAT: Marshall career advising appointments are available on Wednesdays from 2 – 4 p.m.

Individual career advising appointments are available on a first come, first serve basis. Career advising appointments can
be anything from quick resume and cover letter reviews to job search strategies, preparing for interviews or career fairs, salary
negotiation, and more. No appointment is necessary for these quick, 15 minute meetings ‟ just stop by!

If you are unable to attend during walk-in hours, please email Julie Samere at samere@marshall.usc.edu to arrange another
time to meet. Individual advising appointments are only available to 2011 and 2012 graduates that are business
administration and/or accounting MAJORS. Freshmen, sophomores, and Marshall minors are encouraged to meet with
