How did it all start?
   In 2006, the Southwest
    Wisconsin Transit Team
    (SWTT) was formed to:
       Explore ways to collaborate and
        improve existing transportation
        services

       Employ a regional approach to the
        provision of transportation services
        for area residents.
The Core Group
   The Southwest Wisconsin Transit Team is comprised of:
       Grant County Center on Aging
       Green County Human Services
       Iowa County Commission on Aging
       Lafayette County Commission on Aging
       Richland County Health & Human Services
        Aging & Disability Resource Center (ADRC)
       Southwest Wisconsin Community Action Program
       Hodan Center
       Southwest Opportunities Center
       Southwest Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission
       Wisconsin DVR
       Wisconsin DOT
 WisDOT awarded SWTT a New Freedom grant for
2008. SWTT hired a MM in February, and named the

                 program   LIFT
 Leadership in Innovative Flexible Transportation
LIFT is housed and supported by the Southwestern
   Wisconsin Community Action Program (SWCAP)

Idaho’s Mobility and Access
Pathway
   Articulates a new vision for all forms of
    transportation other than a single-
    occupant automobile -- including buses,
    taxis, park & ride lots, bicycles, etc.

   Emphasizes the concepts of mobility
    management and coordination

   Describes the creation of a process and
    a structure to support this vision
Idaho Planning Process
   17 Local Mobility Management Networks (LMMN)
    throughout the state
       Process created a Local Mobility Plan that identifies and
        prioritizes local needs and strategies

   6 District Coordinating Committees (DCC)
       Identified strategies in the LMMN plans that go beyond the
        LMMN boundary into other networks in a district

   State-level Interagency Working Group
       Identified strategies that go beyond district lines, go out of
        state, or are found in multiple LMMN or District Plans

Mobility Management Efforts in
Virginia
   Coordinated transportation planning process
    identified mobility management as potential strategy
    in regional plans:
       Help expand outreach and information on available
        transportation options
       Build coordination between public transportation and human
        service transportation providers
   Nine mobility management funded through the FTA’s
    Job Access and Reverse Commute (JARC) and New
    Freedom Programs
   Two of these are JAUNT and FAMS projects
JAUNT Mobility Management
Project
   Regional transportation system in Charlottesville and
    surrounding counties
   Provide over 270,000 trips a year
   Provide free mobility management services to human
    service agencies:
       Analyze transportation services and expenses
       Assess operating statistics (i.e. one-way trips, vehicle miles)
       Identify unmet transportation needs
       Provide recommendations based on each agency’s unique
        mix of resources and needs
       Final product is a written report
Foothills Area Mobility System
(FAMS)
   Culpeper, Fauquier, Madison, Orange, and
    Rappahannock Counties

   Dual mobility management program

   Rappahannock-Rapidan Regional Commission
    responsible for coordinating and planning to keep
    stakeholders engaged and informed

   Rappahannock-Rapidan Community Service Board
    and Area Agency on Aging employs Mobility
    Specialist who works to arrange transportation
Foothills Area Mobility System
(FAMS) – Additional Goals
   One-call Traveler Center
       Provide information on all travel modes and directly assist
        with travel arrangements and travel training
   Volunteer Transportation Network
       Support volunteer programs that provide flexible on-demand
        transportation
   Support Existing Transportation Providers
       Offer forums to encourage collaboration, expand outreach,
        and improve efficiencies
