Ben buzzed me on the computer this morning at
3:30am. He did make it to Iraq safely, and is glad the
convoy is over. He said his butt hurts. I told him it's
God's way of making him think of me - dual meaning
since I fell in the ice two weeks ago and bruised my
tailbone and backside.
He thought he may be working in a clinic setting more
than out in the field. At least right now that's how it
looks. His first comment was that he would be "doing
different medicine than we thought." So I joked about
spider bites, then he said clinic work. I told him I was ok
with that, and he gave me this face. Then he told me he
loved me.

The Scenario
October 17, 2005
Well, today was a great day. The chain is getting so short. I can hardly wait!
After removing 5 more links, we will be down to one loop!
The kids are eating the home grown watermelon! The vine
great three. The largest one split the first night that we had
40 degree weather. The middle sized one kept growing, and
outgrew the one that split. There is still one more growing.
It's the size of a football. The one we cut open, was really
delicious. The kids giggled with delight at the thought of
eating the watermelon "they" grew. We were thinking, it's
probably from a seed that was spit out when you were home
on leave. Were you spitting seeds??? ;)
Well, I am just checking in. I heard some news today about
a bunch of Iraqi deaths near Ramadi... Sounded like about
70 people, 30ish were civilians. I am thinking of you, and I
love you.
